15mm x 5mm Mitre Slot

I use a Hammer N4400 bandsaw. I'm happy with it apart from the mitre fence which is very poor. I'd like to replace the mitre fence with a third party version, but they all seem to be based on the 3/4" x 3/8" (19mm x 9.5mm) slot system, where as Hammer use a 15mm x 5mm slot. Does anyone know of a good quality sliding mitre fence that use a 15mm x 5mm slider?

You should be able to buy 15 x 5 steel bar and swap it of the standard bar on any mitre gauge of your choice.

I've got that as a possible option (along with using a strip of lignum vitae), but I guess I really need a strip that's 14.8mm x 4.8mm and I don't know how I'd source that.

If you had 15 x 5 mm steel bar. .2mm should be easy enough to file / sand to size?

One other option taken by an Axi TS200 user was to have the slot in the top remachined to take a standard mitre bar. However that would probably invalidate any warranty.

0.2mm will be far too loose a fit for that job. Don't be frightened - it is only metal just another material :lol:
