Stick polythene type damp proof membrane to it or coat it with a decent garage floor paint, that should stop the oil getting to the wood. Rather than making a T would it be better to make two separate trays to make it easier to move/store/clean?

What about a couple grow bag water trays ? They're about a metre long by 350mm wide...I think.

For years I used the side panel of an old washing machine to catch drips from a vintage mini.
Cost me nothing - any white goods should do the job. Topped it up with sawdust to absorb the liquids.

This can't be a new problem for collectors of cars, motorbikes, engines, tractors.

I'm sure there are "established" solutions. Try a specialist forum; I'm guessing (without even looking)
that's there a forum somewhere.

Alternatively give me your Fergie - that way there's no damage to your new garage floor and think of the space you've gained.

Failing that I've seen in garden centres huge green trays for doing gardening with. Seal any holes with hot melt, a layer of sawdust and job done.
