Big lover of unusual skies and cloud formations. I was up in your neck of the woods last year and it is a very beautiful area.

Which particular area is that? My other half loves going on a raptor or deer hunt with her camera and we may be up that way over the xmas holidays. We saw some great wildlife whilst there and even saw a red squirrel on Arran about 6 feet away from us. Don't get to see many of those nowadays. Also had an escort of dolphins on the ferry across to the island.

Thanks for that. It was my ex Father in Law who waxed lyrical about the area, so when travelling up to tour Scotland last summer, we didn't do the usual of going up the A74 and all points North. We took a left turn at Gretna and headed up the A75 before turning off into the Galloway forest area, going up the A762 along Loch Ken and through St Johns. We eventually ended up on the coast at Culzean and made our way up to Ardrossan and the ferry. We never really intended to go that way but i'm glad we did and spent about a week in that area exploring. Will be back to explore some more of the Forest at some point. I see from your link that the Cairnsmore is Granite and we both like geology, so something else to look out for.
