I want to tap some wooden discs to make attachments for my Graduate lathe.
The thread is 1.5" x 6tpi (UNC).
I'll only need to cut afew so £50ish for the Axminster spindle cutter kit is a bit extravagant.
I thought I could make a tap from threaded rod or a bolt of the right size.
The only bolt I can find is £60 per bolt (!).
Any suggestions? Anyone got a ma-hoooo-sive bolt lying around that's not permanently re-purposed as a paperweight?

Pretty sure I still have that tap from when I had my graduate. I'll try to have a look tomorrow and PM you if I do.

I have an axminster 1.5" x 6tpi threading set which you would be welcome to borrow if the other options don't work out.

Can't find it at home - possible I took it to work and put with all the taps there. I'll check next time I'm in there.
