Celebration of Craftsmanship Exhibition - 20th-29th August

I'm sure that designing a chair for a competition that both looks good and works is tough ! It's just that THIS YEAR there was nothing (in the way of chairs) that I coveted and wanted to take home. Last year was much different. SWMBO and I squabbled over what we would spend the (hypothetical)...

Celebration of Craftsmanship Exhibition - 20th-29th August

SWMBO and I went to the private viewing last night. As always I came away even more aware of my own lack of skill, time to practice, creativity .... It sounds as though I should be miserable doesn't it. Instead I'm elated. Such fantastic work and SWMBO kept her purse closed last night :D...

Time to bury the 'red tops'

<Rant>Simple answer. Don't buy the products ! If everyone spent their money in line with their espoused morals/beliefs then all this trash would go to the wall; OK, Hello, the Mail, the NOTW etc... ... and SKY and the plethora of trash TV channels. Who needs more than 4 TV channels anyway...

Where did all those wow moments go?

Running (and walking) 150 miles across the Sahara Desert in 2010, competing in the Marathon Des Sables. The MdS is a 7 day, 6 stage ultra-marathon where you carry all your food, clothing and bedding. The organisers supply medical support and water throughout. Other than that they just put up...

Wadkin AGS - riving knife mounting

I'm back with an update. Thanks Bob, the dremel trick worked a treat; I retrieved the remains of an M6 bolt from the bit circled in red. I also was able to recover the bit circled in blue. It is brass, 30mm long, and I think M12. It is threaded along its entire length and slotted in the...

Wadkin AGS - riving knife mounting

Thanks to all who have shown an interest. It's great to have so much help at hand. I got distracted by my paid job yesterday and this morning :), but hope to get to work on this tomorrow. I'll get the dremel out and see what's blocking this hole. If we can correctly identify the parts I'll buy...

Wadkin AGS - riving knife mounting

Paul, Comparing with Misterfish's and Katellwood's I'm pretty sure mine should mount on the parallelogram arrangement like theirs. The blocked hole is circled in red and on close inspection the metal in the hole is slightly proud and has threads. Looks as though it was broken off. thanks Phil

Wadkin AGS - riving knife mounting

Katellwood, Mrfish, Just seen your your posts after uploading my pictures. An uncanny resemblance! Even your riving knife looks just like mine (less the rust of course) Mine Misterfish's Katellwood's What you have looks like it's what I need! Sadly the manual I have shows a different...

Wadkin AGS - riving knife mounting

Ok. Thanks for all the great input again. Here are some photos. As Doug says it's an older model. The serial number on the plate is 10AGS 791109 Is this fence configuration diagnostic of the exact variant? There seem to be a number of fence styles. The riving knife may or may not be...
