    Cannot Varnish ??

    Work shed temp is about 18c -- using Wickes varnish--- will try beeswax on top of varnish. May have to go back to French Polish( Shellac) but would prefer not to

    Milverton Sawmills have (had) the best Western Red Cedar I have ever used and cut it to your specs--- you will have to dry the wood but well worth it. WRC takes stain better than most woods

    Arrrhhh ! blade broke.

    You will discover that after about 200 broken blades it eases up to about 2 a year if you are lucky, even then it scares the bejasus out of you!

    Welcome to the forum, I 'm sure you will enjoy scrolling----here is a couple of bits made by recycled 25 mm ply, Can be hard to cut and blunts the blade , but at least it's free

    Have you changed the size of blade?--- on the 540 you can change the the "clamp" settings by tightening / loosening the bolt on the other side of the clamp John
