    Excalibur Table Saws

Hi Warren. I've had my 802 for some years now and found it to be an excellent saw, accurate and reliable. What I've done to mine is upgrade the belt to a segmented one, and change one of the leaves to wood so that it converts into a router table. I upgraded the fence too (now bright yellow)...

    Minus 7c and seasoned timber?

Trees do occasionally explode in colder climes I'm told, but they need to get down to -40 or so. I bought some 4x1 sawn from a local timber yard when it was really cold, and the timber was definatly frozen - some of the sawdust melted when I'd cut it. It didn't effect the wood in any serious...

    BSA.

This has bought back a lot of fond memories of a string of Bantams and an M10 I used to own. I remember the Bantams used to go through magneto shafts like they were made of putty. I did my test on a Bantam, arrived at the test centre only to find the kick start had fallen off on the way there...

A decent fence for table saws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very happy with my Accusquare fence, sold in the US by mulecab, but I bought mine from a small company in the UK that had started importing them, sorry, can't for the life of me remember who they are, I'll have to try and dig out the paperwork. Dennis

I was only able to make a flying visit due to family commitments, but had a great time, first class food and beveridges, and excellant company. Sadly I missed the main event (but not the hotdogs). Many thanks to Lurker and Mrs Lurker. When's the next one? Dennis

    Free Vices

I have a couple of woodworking vices laying around and keep tripping over them. If anybody can use them they need to collect from Leicestershire. 1) Record 52 in good working order. 2) 52D no makers name, but has a fast open/close lever, also in good working order. Dennis

    coffe table advice

You can secure a straight peice of plywood as a straight edge to the underside of the timber using double sided tape on a small bit, or panel pins on a big bit. You'll be able to use the edge of the ply as your cutting guide

Thanks for the table, I'll finally replace that piece of wood with the numbers scrawled on it that I kept in my set box. D.

    Quick release clamps and tensioning

The Delta 40-570 (also known as the SS350) has the mechanism you are looking for. The blade is clamped by an eccentric cam lever at both ends, the tension applied by pushing another lever on top of the upper arm. The system is called Quickset II. Now the bad news: Delta no longer supply to...

    Help - I've got a Delta 40-570

I've been talking to the Amurrican chap about my blade holders, and he can't help :( His heads hold the blade well, but don't have the lever on top to tension it. The only thing he could think of was to go to Delta direct... I spent ages on their website and now have an English manual :)...
