    Ok - so shes given me orders to sort the new front Door. I want to make a 2inch ledged type door in Oak plus the frame Now I'm a cabinet maker with a busy workshop and Ive fitted doors but never actually made one - any ideas where I can source plans, construction methods etc.. Many thanks

    I need some Wych Elm

    I have a customer who wants a coffee table 24inchs by 62 inches. Live edge on two sides - no joins! Does anybody know of any wood yards who might be able to sell me a slab of wych Elm? Any help would be appreciated Cheers Steve

    Ideas for drawers

    Imagine if you will a large coffee table. Its more or less just a slab of wood sat on some crossed steel metal legs. The customer wants a couple of drawers fitted to the underneath. Anybody got any good ideas on design?

    floating cabinet panels

    Have I imagined this? I seem to think Ive read somewhere about a method of making flush panelled cabinet doors using a separate tongue. The way I remember it both the panel and the frame were rebated and a strip of wood was used to join the pieces. Not sure Ive explained this very well :roll:

    Spalted Beech

    Just about to make a dining table with a Spalted beech top. Normally for smaller pieces of furniture I just use Colron Finishing oil. Wipe on wipe off but it does tend to drag a bit when buffing. I cant imagine buffing a large dining table but I still want a soft sheen finish - what would...

    to biscuit or not to biscuit

    Just wondered what the general concensus was. I've made numerous tables and unit tops and generally speaking I tend not to bother biscuiting the edges. Just a good plane and some decent glue and clamp for 24 hours. Who biscuits and who doesnt? Just wondered Steve

    butt joint 3/4 oak faced mdf

    hi - ive been a lurker for a while but its time for a question. ive been commissioned to make some study furniture and intend to make free standing pieces bridged by an l-shaped work top made from 3/4 oak faced mdf. ill have to butt joint the pieces and im not sure i will get the finish i need...
