    Pebeco blade problems

Here's a picture of an original (4) sized blade and the new (4) blade. Old blade on bottom/left , new on the top/right. Different tooth sizes, and even though the older (bottom/left) is used and has smaller teeth it outlasts the newer version with bigger teeth. The new just seem to readily snap

    Pebeco blade problems

Hi, Is anyone else finding the Pebeco blades not lasting and snapping very easily? Having used them for years the quality over the last 18months seems to have really dipped. Cuts that would previously take 1-2 blades can be taking upto 12!! Saw is exactly the same and so is tension I have old...

Anyone any experience of Axminster Cyclone Dust Extractors?

There's two new style cyclone extractors in the 2014 catalogue, not sure they're online yet. Have the option to have HEPA style 0.3 micron filters. Very tempted for my own workshop! http://www.axminster.co.uk/wood-working ... extractors?

Ash, Yew, Padauk, pass on the last three. Could be any number of woods! Maybe easier once they've had the patina turned off

    Draw-bar recommendations, anyone use one?

Buffing was what I mainly need it for, as if you have the lathe running a bowl mop and running for a considerable time, it will eventually move! Also can't use the tailstock as support if it for one of the dome shaped buffing mops. Is it simple a job of drilling a taping the back of the arbor...

    Draw-bar recommendations, anyone use one?

Hi, Wondering if anyone uses a draw-bar for a Jacob's chuck or for a collet chuck and if they found any improvement in keep the chuck seated and inline. Also anyone have any details on where to find one or is it a DIY job? Have seen one at Peter Child's website but that's it! Cheers

    Using veneers for woodturning projects

Hi, Have just acquired a few leaves of nice figured and burr veneers I was wondering if anyone had use any for turning projects? I've seen them used as layers in segmenting, but these are too nice for a 1mm separation layer. I'd like a full view of the veneer rather than just a thin edge. I...

    Veneering & Box-Making Books

Hi, Looking for some recommendations of books, or DVD /websites for info on Box-Making and for info on Veneering. Pretty much from beginner level, have done a fair amount of turning but not any cabinet work or veneering. Just something I'm interested in looking into and thought a nice book...

Where to get 0.2 or 0.5 micron filters from? For cyclone!

Thanks very interesting! Did you ever find a decent comparison table that shows the efficiency of the filter at different grades? Found one that shows percentage efficiency at 0.4microns but doesn't show all the gradings, but noticed that your had over 95% efficiency at F9. Not gonna get much...

Where to get 0.2 or 0.5 micron filters from? For cyclone!

Does anyone know how the ratings of EN 1822:2009 and EN 779 compare to the Americans grading and where there is any information of what particle size these European gradings are for!? This is getting more complicated the more I'm looking!!

Where to get 0.2 or 0.5 micron filters from? For cyclone!

Great site! Can I asked which filters you changed your Microclene ones too? As the original filter material isn't really fine enough for the finer airborne dust and don't just want to have a dustpump on the roof!

Where to get 0.2 or 0.5 micron filters from? For cyclone!

Thanks for that, pretty good price for the size of the filter. Can find any actual details on it though, as I filtration efficency or MERV ratings etc. Good price for replacing the 5/30 micron chip extractor bags
