A few bits-n-pieces for anyone interested: Stanley No 50 Combination plane, complete even including the "spurs" - these can be seen attached to the main body and the "sliding section". The cutters are complete but in need of some TLC. The plane has seen little use and the box is in fair...

Sold Incra Intelli-fence for router table

I have been away from the Forum for some time for family reasons. After a recent house move I have re-discovered an Incra Intelli Fence that I have never used. So far as I can see it is only missing an adjustable stop - which I have fabricated (you can see this at the right hand end of the fence...

    Poor man's Joint Master?

But Gerard (with respect) the wood is pushed and the blade is stationary - that effectively means that the saw is pulled through the wood (or have I missed something???) (hammer)

    Poor man's Joint Master?

Hmm ...... TRUE ...... but then I had a Japanese saw blade available so it seemed to make sense. Dave

    Myford PR11

I have just acquired a Myford PR11 planer - an interesting machine that I would like to fettle. I have e-mailed Myfords but apparently - the "old" Myfords did not include any PR11 manuals/parts lists etc when they were taken over a couple of years back by the present Myfords. Can anyone find...

    PLywood case

I agree with Mick .. 12mm Birch ply and finger joints. Also you will need to plan where the ventilation holes/slots will be placed, such that you achieve a good flow in (cool) and out (warm). To help with this you will need to carefully plan the location of the "hot" bits - e.g. power supply...

Roger, I believe CD and DVD players usually have a pin hole (close to the eject button) through which you can poke a suitable poker to encourage the drive to eject ... HTH Dave

Help please - kettle whistle - plastic or wood?

A friend has melted the whistle from her kettle :-" and has been unable to source a replacement. She has asked me if I will turn a replacement. Initial reaction - "simples" :) - but then of course realization begins to dawn - how do I fashion a whistle? how will the wood perform in such an...

Makita 9404 sander: sanding frame & table jigs worth it?

Hi Eric, very robust machine, must admit I rarely use the variable speed - I tend to use it flat out all the time!! The bag extractor does a reasonable job and has to be emptied quite often. I did some detail/edge sanding when doing the floors of my house - it did run away from me once -...

Makita 9404 sander: sanding frame & table jigs worth it?

Eric, for significantly less outlay I have been using a bench-top belt/disk sander for a number of years with no issues (I think it is a Delta make). This approach is more flexible than a simple "shoe", after-all you already have the portability of the 9404.(I also have the 9404) HTH Dave
