    Advice please on a 125mm orbital sander (corded)

    Happy New Year, by the way... I have a Silverline Random Orbital Sander which all but stops under the weight of the machine alone - it is the worst power tool in my workshop!     Workshop bench advice, please

    Many years ago I unherited my father's pretty solid workshop bench. My workshop is a general purpose space - I make and mend. But the bench top is in a rather sorry state as the photo shows. Would you recover it - and if so with what. Ply, MDF, or something else?

    Bahco 14in Combination Square

    I have just bought a 14in Bahco combination square ( online from Prime Tools). It arrived this morning and I tested it for accuracy. It is spot on! Am I just lucky? I chose this partly because it has both inches and metric scales on the ruler.
