    Finishing with beeswax

    It's best to use some lint free cloth (just don't wrap it round you're fingers it can be very dangerous if the cloth gets trapped / caught and do serious damage to fingers and hand if they get pulled into the lathe) as any tissue will get worn out and dragged into the finish before the beeswax...

    Hi, Bowl turned from a piece of ash approx 7"dia x 4"tall, majority of work completed with 3/8" bowl gouge and a scrapper to finish then sanded to 240 grit and a coat of beeswax applied Dave

    Both my pieces made from some branch wood found at the back of the shed, the tree is sycamore, approx 9" tall coloured with chesnut stain and finished with sanding sealer and woodwax22. The snowman is applewood approx 3 1/2" tall finished with sanding sealer and woodwax. Dave

    Made from mulberry the blank was turned round between centres and a spigot added to hold in chuck jaws, the bowl part of the goblet was then turned with a 1/4" bowl gouge and 3/8" spindle gouge managed to get the wall to less than 1mm thick.     Piece of ash 7" tall 4" dia hollowed to 6" finished with mineral oil and beeswax. Spigot was turned between centres, then continued offset turning between centres finally put into chuck for hollowing and finishing. Dave
