Might buy a (nearly) new car...

My old man has got the latest mondeo estate, the 140bhp tdci with a auto gearbox. Its a real good car and its just been for its 36k service (its on about 38k now and its a 57 reg!). He has had no problems with it and goes like a rocket for the size of the thing! Fuel economy is not as the older...

    Door Lock Jigs

Decent set of auger bits (think i paid £20ish for a 20mm one which 'should' be deadlock size) and a powerful cordless drill and you will think you were mad for even considering using a router and jig for the locks! Gavin.

    Drill Driver

A bit more cash but well worth the outlay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FESTOOL-564198-TD ... %3A1318and you can use their snappy stuff to save time swapping bits round . I have the 15.6v version and have got two chucks for it so i can drill with one, counter sink with another then put the screws in...

    Timber house extension.

Im not saying to do it while the concrete is still green :) Left a few weeks with the current weather i would be pretty sure that the concrete would take whatever you threw at it. It did while i was doing it at my previous job. Gavin.

    Timber house extension.

Im sure big rawl bolts would be suitable for fixing the timber to the existing house and to the floor? Or even use the threaded bar method but chem fix them in? Im sure some m14 threaded bar sunk a foot into the ground and chem fixed in would be more than enough! Gavin.

    Replacement Windows

Cant vouch for everything they sell but i live only ten minutes away from ron curries and i find them spot on every time i use them. http://www.roncurrie.co.uk/ I use them for most timber (sheet, cls, pse hardwood) and i find their prices quite good. Gavin (a ron curries fan!)

    How much to fit?

Well im in the east midlands so pricing is midway between them two i guess. I understand what you mean about getting called back to a job for a swelled door but could you not write it into your terms and conditions that the door is either sealed by yourself (paint or varnish) or the customer...

    How much to fit?

If they are egg box doors into new, level frames (if you have done it yourself they are bound to be) I think you could crack ten in a day on your own. How i work my jobs is that i try to earn £130 a day so if you get a job and they want 10 internal doors fitting i would do it on a day rate...

    Workshop lighting

Bit late now but i have only just seen this thread. Am i right in reading you have a 2x200 watt bulbs in roses at each end of the room? Could you not have just doubled up the amount of roses and fitted some low energy bulbs. I think a 20w bulb is equivalent to a 100w bulb? Like i said i may...

    cordless drill

Only one to go for there i think :) :) I have had my festool for 3 years now and that has lasted pretty good to say its has been used on site (all types of joinery, shuttering to kitchen fitting) and its been a real good drill. Then again the new panasonic 14.4v stuff is looking pretty...

    festool - why?

I have got a festool tdk 15.6v drill, ts55 and the psb 300eq jigsaw and i use them all on site and i find them brilliant. They have all seen some hard use (shuttering!!) but they have been fault less. Im on my second tdk now which is needing a new set of brushes but i dont think that is too bad...
