    Dovetailer

Well, I've made a decision, I'm going to follow Mailee's advice, so,I'm going for the Dakota,15" version, but unfortunately, they are out of stock at the moment, and won't be available until the end of April, but I've put the order in anyway. This will give me time to collect some wood for the...

    Dovetailer

Mailee, =D> Brilliant, just the advice I was searching for, you're a gent. The website shows the jig out of stock at the moment, so I think I'll give them a ring for some delivery information etc. Many thanks , have a nice day Regards Baz =D>

    Dovetailer

Well I must admit, after reading about this jig, it certainly looks, and after the recommendation, seems to be the way to go. I did look on the website, and found another one that 'looks' good, it's the DKL35 for £87.95 + extra for the cutter, roughly the same price as the one you are both...

    Bandsaw Blades

Hello Wizer, I think you'll find Colin has been doing a lot decorating and remodeling in his house, among other things, like work etc. As far as all out woodwork is concerned, I think he's having a rest from it for a while, but I reckon he'll be back again. Baz

    Bandsaw Blades

Just broken my 1st bandsaw blade, a Dragon, so have been trying to get in touch with them to get some more, but can't seem to get through " sorry, number has not been recognized" , does anyone have the new number, or are they now out of business. If this is the case, can anyone advise on good...

Yew & Flame Maple Guitar [Completed]

To say I'm as proud as Punch Col, is an understatement. For a Dad to see his Son making something like that is a real "choking" moment. Well done Col. Dad

Removing Pitting from Cast Iron Surface

Hiya Chems, Have you thought of taking it to vehicle engine restorer. They quite often have to 'skim' a cylinder head, so why not a plane. Just a thought. Baz

    Critique required please.

Hiya Johnny, From a new 'turner' I would love to get to this standard, the sooner the better. To me, the vase looks brilliant. I shan't go into the pro's and cons because I'm not qualified to do so, but from what I can see, the turning, the finishing, the effort behind it etc, looks great...

How to correct a wobbling bandsaw blade

Hiya Col, Sorry to hear about your saw, but maybe the best thing eh, to send it back I mean. If you need to use a saw meanwhile, then just come down, no problems. Got my planer today, not the worlds best by far, but good enough for what I'll be using it for. See ya Baz

    iMac

Hiya Waka, Well done. I've been a Mac user for about 4 years now, and just couldn't go back to a PC now. My Mac at the moment is the 20" iMac, absolutely brilliant. If I get any man-made problems, I call a man I know who sorts it for me. Have fun Baz

    A New Planer

Hiya DD, nice looking machine, and read the report, unfortunately though, too expensive for me, and the size looks as though it'll be too large. I was thinking more on the lines of a benchtop unit. Thanks for the info though, much appreciated. Baz

    A New Planer

I'm going to do some segment turning, and understand I have to get some really straight and level surfaces, but, I need to get a planer. The ones I've seen, that are fairly affordable are 6" versions. If my workpieces are 8" or more, is it ok to run the piece through, and then reverse it to...

    Quick D&M Show Report

As BB has said, we went to the show today, a bit disappointed about the lack of turning tools, but was worth every minute there just to see the look on Byron's face when he had bought his new saw, a mixture of excitement and pleasure. This I can understand 'cos it really is a nice looking saw...

    Bandsaw blade suppliers (again!)

Must admit, as a new turner, and using a bandsaw for about the first time, I followed Byron's advice and used Dragon's blades, and all I can say is Brilliant. I shall of course be staying with Dragon as I can't see any reason to change if I'm totally satisfied eh.
