Starting our own business - things I need to do?

Not a lot difference in cost, I have not long become Ltd and did it myself online with companies house. As Limited it will also protect your own assets if something did go wrong and 'limit' the damage to the company (unless you do something illegal). Cheers Dave

Laser cutter and engraver advice needed!

Hi Anne - I agree with Phillydee HPC is the place to start. It will be a steep learning curve and you will need to learn to use programs such as a CAD system (AutoCAD type) for vectors (cutting) and a graphics program for raster files (engraving). CorelDraw is an option as well as it can...

NuTool 37" lathe - spares and headstock question

It should be a tapered fit rather than a collet - the nut would pull it off if you do as Mick says or falling that a harder tap. I would spray some WD40 into the spindle centre from the left hand side, it may just be stuck up with gunk

NuTool 37" lathe - spares and headstock question

If it's the same as one I used to have you can put a rod in the left hand side of the spindle and give it a whack and it will knock the spur out. I got a new drive belt from a local motor dealers  Cheers Dave

Ply Wood Suppliers (...and wooden photo albums)

Mindsets do a laser quality ply which is good for cutting on lasers (less resins in the glue) and also HPC Laser do a 3mm ply. Best Dave

    December Challenge / What happened - 2012 ??????????????????

I think end it - I lost interest after the first bout of bickering. I did enter a couple of bits but only as I had the time and was bored so rather than encouraging me, it did the opposite. I'm not over competitive so don't understand why it became such a problem. If those who run or help run...

Thanks to Vince at the Turners Workshop

I've used the Turners Workshop a few times now and always been impressed. This week Vince helped out with a problem with a pen manrel, that wasn't his fault. His customer care is 100% spot on - thanks Vince! Cheers Dave
