    what type of saw or similar would be most suited for thin slots (photo holders)

    I have cut similar slots in wood using the the bandsaw, if you know someone with a bandsaw they could help.

    I would heat up the ends to cherry red and form small rings on the end .

    Axminster SBW4300 bandsaw

    I have the Europac SBW 4300 which I believe is the same as the Axminster, I need to replace the tyres and have removed the top pulley but the lower one is provng rather more difficult to remove, I have tried gear pullers but the lugs won't grip the boss. Suggestions welcome.
