    Charnwood drum sander

At present I'm only sanding pieces 500mm x 70mm x 10mm so it's ideal for that. It's a pleasure to use. It sounds loud in the short video I posted but it's barely audible when it's on

    Charnwood drum sander

Not sure why they made the bolt holes slotted? Maybe they were not confident that everything was going to line up? There is a 5 year warranty on the drum sanders so someone has fairh

    Charnwood drum sander

Yes they could, the only reason they are that long is if they were short they would hit the stand when undoing them..they have Bristol handles fitted ( if thats the correct term?) But it take a few mins undoing them and then pulling the handle out to get it to the starting position again. So...

    Charnwood drum sander

Imaging removing the side support piece if you want to do a 20 inch double pass piece and then having to replace all the washers and split washers again. I will be mainly using it on pieces no more than 75mm so won't have to...it seems to work really well and a pleasure to use

    Charnwood drum sander

I'm pleased with the machine, it's very heavy, it's basic but then what more do you want? It's a drum sander, a cylinder with sandpaper spins with the aid of a large quiet motor. While a conveyor moves with the aid of an even quieter motor...All seems over engineered and does the basic job of...

    Charnwood drum sander

Just had delivered a Charnwood drum sander, the 10 20 version. Quite impressed with it, weighs more than I thought and is whisper quiet. Even when it's sanding boards it's not a screeching noise just a pleasant sort of noise. Not to sure about all the spacers, seems they tried to use every...

    Machinery wheels? Casters

I fitted the Toolstation swivel braked caster, which are rated at 50kg each. They seem fine but the metal lugs with the 10mm fixing holes on the bottom of the machine slowly bent inwards! I watched as all four wheels after fitting slowly dropped lower and disappeared

    Impressed with Yandles

How things change, was told by Yandles it would be delivered today. So I took the day of work unpaid, £200 loss. Got to 4pm and no sign of the delivery. I tried to do a track my parcel with the delivery company but Yandles had not sent the correct bar code tracking. So I emailed Yandles and...

    Machinery wheels? Casters

Hi thanks for the reply, the ones with the lever would be fine if I had the room. Dont like the sticky out ones see them as a trip hazzard. I just went with some m10 bolt on ones, 50mm wheels swivel and lockable seems the neatest option. I only want to move it a couple of foot so when I use the...

    Machinery wheels? Casters

Looking for some wheels so i can move my 100kg planer/thicknesser about. Whats the best way to go. 2 fixed and 2 swivel/ braked? It has a 10mm hole in the chasis, anything local that can be bought, i see Toolstation has swivel and braked but no fixed with a 10mm bolt fitting

    Impressed with Yandles

Just ordered a drum sander from Yandles in their sale and the following day after id ordered they had a 12 hour 5% discount on all machinery. So I emailed them and said i wish id known about the 5% discount and would have waited a day before ordering. They said no problem we will give you the...
