Yes they can be but I think if you do your homework you can find some good deals. The best price I found on the web without discount was with FFX and after discount the price was even better :)

Does a Metal garage roof increase the temperature in the summer?

Maybe. I think the condensation that could be created under the metal sheet would not cause the ply to get wet. I could have treated the ply. The roll of membrane I used was easier to lay down than treat the ply and it was not that expensive—about £40 a roll from ScrewFix.

Does a Metal garage roof increase the temperature in the summer?

I did use screws to fix the metal sheets. My thinking was that if any water got in—it would fall on the membrane and end up in the gutter at the bottom of the roof. Also if condensation did occur then it would drip on to the membrane and not the plywood. It did not treat the plywood with...

Does a Metal garage roof increase the temperature in the summer?

I fitted metal roofing to the garage. I put 6mm ply down first and then a waterproof membrane. Never had a problem with heat when it does get hot and never had a problem in winter. I’ve not noticed any increase in noise—even when it’s raining. If anything it feels less noisy or something is...

    Wrist watch question

Avia have a lovely range—I might buy one. The days of expensive watches are over for me. This episode has taught me much about watches that I was completely unaware of. Once I get my watch back—I’m selling it. Great anti-fashion statement! :)

    What constitutes 'handmade' ?

I’m staying with my cousin this weekend—we were talking about some place mats and coasters he had. They looked like they were made with a CNC laser. He said a relative of his made them by hand—I disagreed and his son said—as far as he was concerned it was handmade and why does it matter. He went...

    Wrist watch question

I got a Citizen Promaster Eco-Drive, the 37mm model in blue today. I changed the strap to match the deep blue of the dial. It cost £235—I’m happy with it. My wife likes it and she wants it! If and when I get back the MeisterSinger I’m going to sell it most probably.
