Which pictures are you looking at when you see quarter sawn oak?

Surely the dovetail end grain is enough to show it isn’t veneered?

How do I find out if it’s veneer and not solid?

It doesn’t exactly feel heavy though, overall it does but I’ve taken it apart and the panels don’t exactly feel heavy like I would think oak should be?

I bought this wardrobe today hoping to use the wood for my fire surround project I have lined up, can anyone help me identify the type of wood it is?
