    Shaper Origin owners?

Hi @Ollie78 With the shaper being 'hands on, its more time consuming than a traditional 'set and forget' cnc. But for me it's more versatile. I cut my dovetails with it and can inlay designs into otherwise finished pieces etc. Space was another factor which made me go with the Shaper. And...

    Shaper Origin owners?

Just seen this section up and glad to see there's quite a few members with CNC machines. I use a Shaper Origin with my workflow. I use it for cutting templates, (table legs, drawer fronts etc), decorative inlays, dovetails and engraving etc etc. It's a great bit of kit. I've been using...

Why do so many woodworking youtubers use Blues/Bluegrass background music

Its non offensive and probably royalty free. If any video has some dance track backing it, I switch it off. Likewise, being a heavy rock fan, I wouldn't expect many people to suffer my tastes.

Please help - messed up the floorboards

I feel for you and I know the strains of caring for parents with dementia. If you really cant live with it, maybe consider laying a cheap laminate flooring over the top. It would be easier than floorboards to keep clean. If you do decide to re-sand, don't be tempted to sand across the grain to...

    PT 310 feed problem (fixed)

Just a belt come off. Bit of a knee-jerk reaction as I've had my bandsaw in bits waiting for a part now for weeks. The RP tech assures me its in the post! 🤔 I have to hand it to you guys who are hand tools only. So fewer frustrations.

    PT 310 feed problem (fixed)

Morning, I have a Record Power PT 310 and the feeder rollers have stoped working. I forgot to throw the lever to activate them before starting. I realised when it wouldn't feed so then dropped the lever. Looks like this has done something to stop them from rotating. Any Ideas on a fix? Cheers

New Workshop - Down Lighters or Light Fittings

I think mine are white. Warm white are a bit yellow and too higher lumens are a bit blinding. Gives you a headache. Working at either side of my bench I have light both behind and in front of me.

New Workshop - Down Lighters or Light Fittings

Depends on how many you put up I guess. My workshop is about 6x4.2m and put in 6No. 5ft led battens. 28w 3230lm and don't suffer any noticeable shadows. I guess you mean these and not the led tape (strip)?

    kitchen query

Like @Sgian Dubh says, run a batten fixed to studs where the wall cab brackets will fix. Run another near the bottom so the cabs hang properly. You may need to adjust the base units to suit if they need to line up with the wall cabs. End panels should cover the gaps at the end of the runs.

    Rough timber for table top?

As a project, I'd cut it down the middle and face the live edges to one another and pour with resin. Big enough for an 8 seater dining table.

    Titebond!?

If I'm correct on the date, its unlikely been frozen. My workshop doesn't drop below +5c. It goes up to around 15c during the day over winter while I'm working. Its well insulated and humidity is fairly stable. Normally between 55-65%. A friend of mine has used titebond's for some time so Ill...

    Titebond!?

Thanks for the responses guys. Sorry for the large pics but thought it necessary to see the problem. First is the batch numbers match. Can't decode a date in the batch number. July 14 2022? I may have bought the first one in July, maybe August. . L/h bottle was bought 2-3 months before r/h...

    Titebond!?

I've been a long(ish) term user of gorilla wood glue. Maybe 8 or 9 years. In the last 6 months or so, I've started using titebond 3. Longer working time and apparently far superior to its competitors, why would I not transition? Bought a 16oz bottle last summer and found it almost 'grainy'...

    Steam bending timber

What wood are you using? I've recently been steam bending maple @ 3.3mm x 35mm and it formed well. Laminating 6 pieces together for thicker finish but my glue up was unsuccessful so shelved the idea for now. Thread link

    Finishing brass with?

Thats a good shout. I was looking to try some on table I'm nearing completion. I'll find some a try on a bit of spare. Thanks for the suggestion. Thanks recipio, I have the fine brush effect I'm looking for on these. Might look at something like this for future.
