    New workshop power installation quote

Doesn't seem too bad to me, but it's always wise to get at least two quotes for any job.

3 piece loft ladder, how to lubricate?

Silicone furniture polish or the dry PTFE spray that paulm mentioned.

Woodworking & craft shows and events…

I am considering going, but it all depends on how I'm feeling on the day. Was pondering which day would be best to go?

Shed on a steep slope project - retaining wall question

Before you go too far with your plans for 600mm between boundary and shed wall, have a look at building regs as applied to sheds. IIRC, if the shed wall is made of flammable material, it must be at least 1m from the boundary.

Might buy myself a xmas pressie.

Sorry - Technology Outlet had the K1 for around £450 in their black Friday sale. They also had the K1 Max reduced to £668 IIRC, so I just had to have one. :) G.

Might buy myself a xmas pressie.

Yes, fairly happy. It's actually a K1 Max, but no matter which printer you get, there's always somebody, somewhere, who comes up with 'improvements'! It printed just fine straight out of the box, which was impressive and many people would have been happy with that, but then you start reading...

Might buy myself a xmas pressie.

In a similar vein, I recently bought a Creality K1 - unboxed it, turned it on and printed the first print without needing to do anything else - not cheap at around £450, but how do you value your time and frustration of needing to mess around with a lesser printer?

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

There's quite a few parts to print, but it all looks straightforward enough. If you fancy having a go, let me know. G.

Makes sense to me, with my Scottish upbringing. :)

Bosch Pro Table Saw GTS10 Motor Rebuild

That'll be fine, as fibreglass is non-conductive.

Bosch Pro Table Saw GTS10 Motor Rebuild

If you're planning to clean that commutator up with abrasive paper, then do ensure that you only use SANDpaper - many other abrasive materials are conductive and could cause shorts between adjacent segments.

    Bandsaw upgrade

I've had my Sabre 350 for a couple of years or more now and very happy with it - dust collection could be better, but I think many bandsaws suffer a similar problem. Don't know where in the known universe that you're located, but you'd be welcome come and take a look if you're anywhere near...

    Anyone fancy having a go?!

I'd be happy to print one for you. Material cost would be very little, so I'd only ask that you cover the postage cost. PM me if you'd like me to print one for you - material would be ABS and you'd need to tell me what colour you'd prefer. Gordon

    WiFi extenders

After a couple of years of messing about with wifi extenders of various types, we bit the bullet and installed a Netgear 'Orbi' mesh system and haven't since regretted it once - we get decent speeds, plus wide and reliable coverage throughout the whole bungalow. G.

    Belt sander cable repair help.

If you don't feel qualified to fit a replacement cable, then one of these will suffice - much better than winding tape around the damage. If that one seems too bulky, there's lots of different designs available if you look on electrical equipment suppliers' websites.

Advice on loading above tree roots

If the tree is only 60cm from the house wall, I'd be having it taken down asap! That's way too close to the building foundations and will be causing damage as it grows. G

    Going to Boston, USA

Not going to be a lot of help to you, but we flew into Boston a few years ago, didn't get to explore the city though, as we had a car and hotel booked, so needed to leave straight away. Took the rental car down to Cape Cod for a few days, which was really nice. I can only advise that you...
