    Morrell's through HVLP?

So, follow on before. Brilliant finish. The water based primer and paint is good stuff, very smooth. I did a good sand and prep, 2 coats of primer without prep inbetween, a sand of the primer to get a smooth finish, coat of topcoat, sand and final topcoat. You could probably get away with one...

    Morrell's through HVLP?

Hello Has anyone had any experience with Morrell's paints? Set up is a HVLP running off a compressor with a 1.8MM tip. I'm using Tikkurila at the moment but finding it to be pricey compared to Morrell's, and Morrell's has a much faster drying time. Just wanting to know others past experiences...

    Spraying with turbine

Hi all, Up to now I've been using a compressor and a top loader hvlp air sprayer with a 1.8mm tip, I've been getting good results so far and am happy with this, coverage isn't as quick as I'd like as it soon runs out of air but that's for another day. I've had a request to do some spraying in...

    Drilling glass

Thanks for the replies and advice much appreciated. I've gone to a local glass supplier and can pick the sheets up, I'll most likely get the mirror adhesive from Screwfix and then give it a stick. I'll see what it's like before I go drilling holes 😆

Does this table design look strong enough?

I'd be tempted to put an overhang on the top but it is up to the customer on aesthetics. Could do with some fixings to allow the top to move in different conditions, the ones that screw to the worktop and then go into a groove in the rails, usually cut on a table saw or with a track saw. Unless...

    Joining worktop lengthways

Hi, Just a quick one, I've got an island coming up which is about a 1.2m square, I am struggling to find a worktop that is that depth as obviously cabinet dimensions hover around 0.6m. Has anyone ever dominoed 2 lengths of 0.6m worktop along the edges to make them wider? I.e cutting a 3 metre...

    Drilling glass

Thanks for the replies, yes I think you're right on getting them to drill the holes. It will be much safer, and quicker...;) Good point on the rubber washers, I wouldn't have thought of that, that could of been an expensive lesson haha

    Drilling glass

Hello, I've got a project coming up with glass fronts on an 18MM backer board, MRMDF. The glass is 6MM mirror, I'm assuming just a shiny sheet on the back (product here: Cut to size 6mm mirror including shapes and cut outs | Made2Measure). Has anyone had experience using an adhesive? As I'm...

Anyone got a few spare logs?

"The weight and dimensions of this urn are variable, due to the nature of how it is crafted." Due to the nature of how someone cuts the top off and drills a hole in a few minutes

Anyone got a few spare logs?

If it were £30 I could understand it, but £500 for a log. A log.

Best finish for birch ply to try and match a veneer colour

The finish is a low satin sheen, approx 20% sheen. I have some Morrell's pre-cat satin lacquer already, I was thinking of spraying 2 coats of the dye you have suggested and then 2 coats of lacquer with 5% dye mixed in. Mainly to try build up the layers and get an even finish.

Built in wardrobe design feedback (newbie)

Not sure if you've already finalised a design or not, I'll add some information anyway. When I've done wardrobe units in the past I've used adjustable 100MM cabinet feet, purely because it takes account of any bulges in the floor, they're useful to adjust too if you're trying to install...

Best finish for birch ply to try and match a veneer colour

So, I've got a cabinet to make for a wardrobe, the current wardrobe has a darkish veneer on, almost mahogony colour. The cabinet I'm making is made from birch ply, and a lipping on the edges to obscure the layered edges. What is the best finish to try match the colour? I've been looking at a...

I carry a Victorinox Hiker on my keyring, get used nearly every day but I use a Smith & Wesson rescue on my jobs as it's very strong. I do have others which don't get as much use as they should, I've got an A Wright & Sons pocket knife, a clip top one that's very good, a couple little Whitby...
