    Hexagon shelves

I have not come up with the project depth yet. Those button fixings look interesting. Presumably, the button could be held with drywall fixing to the wall and the receiver routed flush into the back of the shelf?

    Hexagon shelves

Cheers for the response mate. Some great tips there. Because there will be about 7 small shelves in total in a hoz row, I Had given up any chance of lining them up with studs. I was more concerned about how to hang the shelves from the screws? The thickness will be a max of 18mm I should think.

Inspired by a member project I would like to make some hexagon shelves. I don’t think I can use the floating concealed posts to fix them because Its to plasterboard and the shelves are not going to be very deep. They won’t be massive so Could I use a keyhole router bit and hang them from...

    Card table top

Thanks for the reply mate. I like the oak idea because that would match their furniture. Oak and black felt would look nice I think. I do have a mitre saw but I don’t really know how good it is. How could I get the oak boarder to be flush with the playing surface , is that what you meant by the...

    Card table top

Hi guys, Google has let me down for ideas this time but I am sure someone here will be able to help. I play cards when I get the chance with my dad. When we do , we use this silly 2ft square table that he has and it’s just a little too small. I thought for Xmas I would build him a slightly...

    Mdf floating shelves

thanks for all of the advice guys. They are up and haven't fallen down as of yet. For some reason, the picture and the shadows make the spacing look but I have checked twice and they all are fine. The most important thing is that my daughter is happy :)

    Duplicated Router bits?

Hi guys, Newbie with a router and router table here. I went a little crazy in Axminster on black Friday. I ended up buying a few too many router bits and would like some advice before I return a couple, please. Amongst others, I bought a hinge recess cutter and a milling cutter (see pic) I...

They are going to be painted so I could just keep the glue away from the channels and pin it.

    Mdf floating shelves

Thanks for the reply. I do have a drill press but I just thought for me this way, and the fact she wanted 30mm might be my best option. Tbh I hadn’t even considered glue going in the grooves so thanks for pointing that out.

    Mdf floating shelves

Hi guys, My daughter has asked me to make her 10 x 450mm x 170mm x30mm floating shelves. I have ordered from the jungle several types of brackets to check out, mainly with a bar diameter of 10 or 12mm. My plan is to use 18mm & 12mm fixed together. 18mm on top , with a routed 10 or 12 mm wide...

    Shelving construction help

thanks, mate as I mentioned above I am struggling to get my head around where you use these straps. Can I hang the upright supports by adding these straps to the joints and have the uprights strapped "inline" ie, no wood screwed together?
