I read this thread a few days ago and it prompted me to go to their website to order a new catalogue. I now have a new catalogue sat on my coffee table. Simples!

How long is a wood chuck stuck if a wood chuck won't be unstuck?

I went out this morning and it freed off. There was about a match heads worth of sawdust on the threads, that's all it took to lock the threads.

    Primary colour wood dye/stains

I'm going Google blind looking for coloured stain or dye that I can use for toys etc. There are tons of natural wood colours but very little in the way of primary colours. Is water based more likely to fade compared to spirit based? I'm on a tight budget and will only be using it on a casual...

Tidy garage = less room due to auction win...

I noticed the endgrain was painted or dyed on some of the timber in the brianc's foto. I've seen this in timber yards and stockists too.

I was taught from the outset by my metalwork lecturer (40+yrs ago) to reverse the junior hacksaw blade. It would then work on the pull stroke. This causes less stress and twist on the blade allowing it to last longer and give a more controlled cut. Cheap wire frame saw and unbranded blades all...

So, isn't it about time the rights of a consumer were upgraded in law?

I was a Materials Controller for Zeal Electronics in Chesterfield. Their idea of QC was ship it and see if it's sent back. The attitude from management sent me up the wall, goal posts moved on a whim.

    Record Ridgeway Quality

My Mum worked at the Dronfield factory on Wreakes Lane in the late 70's and early 80's. I have a lot of heirloom tools from then.

    Rubber feet got chopping board

I've never understood why some chopping boards come with feet. I defeats the purpose of having two sides. I mark one side 'smelly' for cutting onions, garlic, etc. I always use a different board for meat.
