    Childrens Play Centre Build Thread

This is fantastic mate. Hoping to build something similar next summer. I built a play house this year but hoping to go one better and built a raised one like yours next year. Interesting the way you've gone about it as it's exactly how I planned it . Looking forward to seeing the rest.

    Metabo dh 330 fault

Cheers for that. I've no idea even what the part is haha! You're probably right they wont offer that much. I have to say it wouldn't bother me once the machine is still working. I'd also want to make sure any other faults that develop will be covered.

    Metabo dh 330 fault

Hi guys, I bought the metabo at the weekend and it arrived damaged. I've attached a photo. Company have offered to refund, replace or if it is still working that they can offer me a discount on it. Just wondering if any more knowledgeable people can tell me of the damage which is at the top will...

Started working on some joinery a few months back and this was my first real attempt at anything other than practicing. First time working with any hardwood other than oak. Recycled from some old science lab counter tops in our school. Ive been told its teak but someone may correct me on that...

    Router Table - Home Made.

I was the same and couldn't justify the cost of it so bought this adjustable lift as seen in the photo . Works well. Can remove the springs from the router so it moves easier but I haven't found the need for it yet.

    Pocket hole jigs

I have the Kreg k4 and find it very good. One issue a lot of them have is the clamp lever is on the opposite side to where you drill so if you are drilling into a large enough cabinet piece etc u have to reach around to clamp it in place and unless you're stretch Armstrong it's quite difficult...

    Advice for tools for joinery

To be fair, using power tools for the bulk and hand tools to refine would probably be my preference as well. I don't have the luxury of spending hours in the shop with a one year old at home! Cabinet looks great. Fair play. I've mainly worked with plywood and mdf so far so I'm hoping to get to...

    Advice for tools for joinery

    Advice for tools for joinery

I like that saying. I never really saw thought about the difference before. I guess furniture maker probably fits more into this category. I'm keen on learning all skills associated with the different. I'd like to learn the different joints. Planning on learning the box or finger joint this week.

    Advice for tools for joinery

Thanks a million for that solid advice. Yea I suppose I would have just seen joinery as making furniture but I see now the difference. I'd like to make some furniture but as I said I just want to build my skill set and if that means I end up making some kind of furniture thats great. Do you mind...

    Advice for tools for joinery

As I said I'm new to the joinery side of things so I'm open to advice . Because I've been doing more cabinetry or carpentry based work over the last two years since I started I have built up a good collection of power tools. Have a plunge and trim router and have seen the use of spiral bits to...

    Advice for tools for joinery

Thats great mate thanks. I'll defo check these out. Second hand seems to be the way to go. Import and delivery fees to Ireland are a joke though 🙄

    Advice for tools for joinery

Hi James Thanks for that. Budget wise I'm happy to spend on something that will last. As I built my power tool collection I quickly realised cheap doesn't last. I have a Stanley plane already. Not sure what number it is though. Not in the workshop at the moment to check but this is it. Got them...

    Advice for tools for joinery

Hi there, This is my first time posting in the forum. I've been woodworking for the past 2 years mostly focusing on home projects, carpentry and cabinet making but I want to start to learn the joinery side of things. Been very difficult in Ireland for me to find classes to do as most are very...
