Festool saws, dust extraction, Henry and 100mm....

In the end I bought the CT15 to use with the mitre saw and the plunge saw, and the Henry has been repurposed to the garage ;) Many thanks everyone.

Festool saws, dust extraction, Henry and 100mm....

Not quite "forgot to buy" but Festool stuff isn't cheap and this is just a hobby for me, so it's baby steps on the purchases. I was looking at the CT26; the CT15 seems to offer pretty much the same features. I guess my ideal world would be to connect a Festool to my main dust extractor with the...

Festool saws, dust extraction, Henry and 100mm....

Hi all I have a Festool TS 55 saw, which is brilliant saw but it doesn't half chuck out the dust! I also have 1 high-flow Fox dust/chip extractor for my table saw, and I have a good old Henry vacuum cleaner :) I'm looking to see if there is a way for me to leverage either the Henry or the Fox...

Safe way to use a dado stack

We do. That is how they are "processed" once trapped. But they are trapped to ensure a humane kill, rather than having a one-eyed squibble bouncing around the trees in pain. The comb allows it to be penned to a corner of the trap where it sits motionless waiting for the appointment with the pellet.

Safe way to use a dado stack

it is indeed. It's a project run by Scottish Wildlife Trust. Not only is it illegal to trap a red, but it's also illegal to release a grey. Even vets and animals rescues would be breaking the law if they released a grey. So yes, the ultimate objective is to catch the greys and then deal with...

Safe way to use a dado stack

Lateral thinking :) I'm not sure, let me check with the charity. Thanks ;)

Safe way to use a dado stack

It's for a local wildlife charity. They have traps for squirrels, and once trapped there is a need to pen the squirrel towards one end of the cage so that it has less space during handling. So the comb has to fit through the wire mesh. We need 100 or so.

Safe way to use a dado stack

Thanks Noel, great advice. And that got me thinking. I would probably have started at the wrong end first! I have fence to the right of the blade, and would have cut the rightmost cut first, then moved the fence. But it sounds like I should do the leftmost cut first, so that the cut part is to...

Safe way to use a dado stack

Thanks Josh. Squaring off isn't critical, it was just the icing on the cake. It's a fair point, thank you.

Safe way to use a dado stack

Hi Noel Many thanks for taking the time to reply, it's much appreciated. You would be right :) When I say that I have one, it's been despatched but hasn't arrived yet :) So I have zero experience :) Comments/advice noted, thank you. For the perpendicular bit, I may have explained poorly. I'm...

Safe way to use a dado stack

Hi all First off...I know about the official HSE statements regarding dados in the UK. But I have one, and I need to use it. I have a requirement to make a "comb" in the end of a piece of sarking. So about 8 or 9 long cuts, stretching about 20 CM up the length of sarking, with each cut being...

Need help understanding Arbor and blade (dado) - Laguna Fusion 3

Fantastic, thank you everyone. @pcb1962, thank you for the video link. I read a lot of reviews before I purchased but somehow missed that deep-dive. @Nick thank you, I have just sent you a mail. I fully accept that any advice is unofficial due to the UK's position on dado etc. Thanks again...

Need help understanding Arbor and blade (dado) - Laguna Fusion 3

Thanks Tom. I had also read about most UK/EU saws having short arbors but this does seem to have a reasonable sized arbor. There’s plenty of thread on the screw. Spec says it’ll take a dado of 20mm. jim

Need help understanding Arbor and blade (dado) - Laguna Fusion 3

Hi all ok first up, I’m DIY, not pro. I have a Laguna Fusion 3 table saw, my first table saw. I am looking for a dado set. The spec says it’s a 30mm blade, but when I look at the saw it’s actually a much smaller arbor with a 30mm blade nut, and that blade nut is only wide enough for a single...

Fitting plastic sacks on dust extractor

Yeah I’m sure you are laughing, but I find this really hard! You get the bag around the back of the rim, then pull it around the front and the back has dropped off. Or you get the whole bag on but it then comes off when you try to fit the metal strap. I don’t have enough hands! So what tips...

Looking for my first table saw

Hi again Daniel My Fusion 3 arrived yesterday and I set it all up last night. Once I removed it from the pallet it fitted through the doorway by 3mm :) I changed my B20 fuse to a C20 fuse at the weekend too, and it's working great. One suqgestion: the manual shows a place on the right had...
