    Workbench finishing

The best thing I have on my (ply) benches are the rubber non slip mats from the pound shop! Given the price of 18mm ply these days my next bench will be the tarmac floor!

Finish for Farrow and Ball on an MRMDF table top

I've played about with bona mega over painted furniture including F&B with good results. Simply because I use it (the bona) a lot on floors and often have half a litre or so leftover. I have sprayed, brushed and rolled it on various different bits lying around the workshop and it works great...

    Furniture reviver and white oil.

Thanks very much Richard, it's always good to try different recipes as jobs differ. Strangely the household ammonia seems to be the difficult one to get! Thanks again, Barry.

    Furniture reviver and white oil.

@Droogs thanks mate, I've never used tinted meths for that very reason! I've heard people say it doesn't make a difference but I always buy it clear anyway so no need to change! Thanks again.

    Furniture reviver and white oil.

mrpercysnodgrass, thank you very much for your reply. This sounds more familiar with what I was using before. I have searched the Internet for something close but couldn't find any tried, tested and regularly used without someone else saying theirs is better! As for the fairy liquid madness I...

    Furniture reviver and white oil.

One for the traditional French polishers or old school woodworkers! Roughly 10 years ago I had a recipe for a reviver that worked a treat and to this day I cannot find the folder I kept it in and I can't find anything even close to it (even on here!)! I have read the threads but like my recipe I...

    Chopping board finish advice

I wouldnt consider walnut oil is ideal for anyone with a nut allergy! I'm sure oak will be fine if the open grain is filled and properly sealed.

    Tigerwood flooring colour.

Yeah I really don't fancy going down that road plus I wouldn't be able to keep the grain so black which is a big feature. All is not lost though as she has a sideboard needing repaired and polished!

    Tigerwood flooring colour.

Hi guys looking for a bit of advice/knowledge! I have a customer looking to have her flooring stripped and refinished. It's tigerwood and original to the house. Trouble is that she wants it to resemble an oak colour. It's a deep red just now and I don't want to price it until I can be sure I can...

Sorry for the above message I'm just new here and must have got excited and don't know how to delete!!😂😂 The only problem with this I find is that the second you put any ink on it it goes black as it sinks into the MDF no matter the colour. The liberon sticks are a soft wax and wont last any...
