    T Track slider

Many thanks Peter. You confirmed what I suspected. I reckon I will use some 5/8 x 1/4" (15.9 x 6.35) ally bar for the sliders and lose the locking benefit of the 'T'. Wouldn't life be simple if there were standard threads, units of measurement, pitches, T track sizes, tube sizes etc etc? Regards

    T Track slider

Happy New Year I'm trying to source a T track slider for my table saw but maybe the track is an odd size (see illustration). Every one I can find (including the adjustable ones) seem to be geared up for the a 23mm wide track rather than the 19mm I need. Does what I want exist as or is it a...

Ryobi BT250ET 254mm Table saw riving knife

Yes you are right! The photo gives the impression of curves in two axis - hence my confusion. I now understand what it looks like and how it can be fitted. I typically use a Freud 250mm 40 tooth blade which has a body of 1.8 and a kerf width of 2.8mm so I propose to make my Rivng knife between...

Ryobi BT250ET 254mm Table saw riving knife

Rorton many thanks. Your riving knife looks curved - I rather thought they would always be flat in parallel with the blade or am I misinterpreting it? Regards

Ryobi BT250ET 254mm Table saw riving knife

I have had this bench saw for a number of years and having recently had a timber damaging kickback I realised that the saw was not fitted with riving knife. As far as I can remember this saw was never suupplied with a riving knife or splitter. Clearly I need one! The blade slot is longer on the...

    Cock beading router bit

Very many thanks. I don't have too many to make so the scratch stock route seems the way to go. Presumably they are they generally 'home' fabricated from an old blade of some sort? Or are suitable blades commercially available? Very useful photos - thanks for taking the trouble to post them. Regards

    Cock beading router bit

I guess the traditional way to make cock beading for Edwardian drawers is with a moulding plane but I haven't found one with the right profile. Does anyone know of a router bit suitable for making the visible profile on a piece before making the trim on a table saw? Regards

    SIP 01344 Planer Thicknesser

You may well be right. Unless anyone else here has other relevant experience I'll give the 17mm belt a try. Thanks

    SIP 01344 Planer Thicknesser

This machine is similar, if not identical to the Metabo HC260C and Record PT260. The flat feed drive belt seems very loose and slips if I introduce a heavy load. SIP no longer stock this belt, nor do Metabo or Record as far as I can tell. Because the belt has clearly stretched (no tension...
