    There was 40cm of snow forecast yesterday but just a lot of wet snow that fortunately did not settle. 28C a week ago, today 0C and snowing rain again. if you need a hand let me know. I don't have a lot of free time at the moment but if I can get away I will. Murrazano must be about an hour away.

    I recently purchased one of Kingshotts books but thought this video an excellent introduction to the handplane and how it works. Better than anything I have read or seen before.

    If you don't mind it a bit smaller cut it at the mitres, sand off all the stain and finish it before re-gluing.

    I wont touch them. I bought a Scheppach pillar drill from them which is adequate but far from accurate and a reciprocating saw that lasted 3 days, my wife was cutting up pallets, shaft snapped.

    I nearly always buy Fisch, they are very good and just keep going. I tried an Irwin once and it was useless by comparison. I believe Famag are very good too.

    I'm thinking about building a shooting plane with a skew blade. How best to cut the blade without it overheating? I thought carefully score with angle grinder and snap maybe?

    I buy Nakahashi Seisakusho directly from Amazon Japan. Very good chisels and much more economical for me here in Italy.

    I wouldn't normally buy DMT because I have never had a flat one but recently saw a large coarse and extra coarse on Amazon for $35 so I bought it. I don't know why but that is what the instructions say.

    I have LV pmv11 in mine with their chip breaker. I like it but I think most would say it takes too long to sharpen.

    It obviously depends how important it is to you but you could consider companies like Stackry. An added benefit is that you get to choose the value for customs of the item you have sent over.

    You can often find Bosch HSS cobalt in marketplace at Amazon. I have a 1 -10mm in .5mm increments and I think it cost around £30

    Track saws and thin blades

    I have cut 50mm ash with my battery festool with no issues. I belive the blades are thinner than the previous ones.
