I'm thinking about building a shooting plane with a skew blade. How best to cut the blade without it overheating? I thought carefully score with angle grinder and snap maybe?

Is there an alternative to paying a small fortune for an abrasive cleaning stick as used on belt sanders and stationary disc sanders?

I wouldn't normally buy DMT because I have never had a flat one but recently saw a large coarse and extra coarse on Amazon for $35 so I bought it. I don't know why but that is what the instructions say.
