    Wood deteriorated

Nope, nothing on it I can see. I love my wood so gave it a good looking at once home, unless they're microscopic, of course. Such a shame given the bowl is beautiful

    Wood deteriorated

I don't know if you can make out on these photos just how deep the gouges are on the spotted beach bowl. This bowl has been on this table for one week. I only bought the table last Saturday and the bowl has deteriorated within this time. Sounds crazy but I have no idea how it's happened but...

    Wood deteriorated

I have a beautiful Spalted Beech turned bowl. My wife recently put it on a teak table which has a beach vibe, in that it's rough wood and gnarly in its design. The bowl now has a very rough bottom as though it's been eaten by the teak and small chunks are missing and now the bottom of the bowl...

    Ultrasonic Cleaner

I am looking for a recommendation for an Ultrasonic Cleaner. I have one but it is very small and only for jewelry, bought from Aldi. I need a bigger one 10-20 for car and bike parts amongst other things. I've done a little research and I'd like a dual-frequency one with a heater. Does anyone...

Where's the best place to buy a systainer so I can store the Mirka discs in their boxes, so perhaps a tall box? Thank you

    Festool systainer

I have the Festool Midi Extractor. I wanted a box to fit on top so I can keep my sanding discs in. Does the systainer fit directly on top? Thanks Simon

    Pigments

Really appreciate the help. I have ordered some water-based pigments, spirit-based ones, and some earth colors too. Thanks a million, which is nearly what it cost.😂😂

    Pigments

Hi all When I watch Will on The Repair Shop he often uses pigments, powdered ones that he mixes in with water to get the right colour match when he is covering scratches etc. Does anyone know what they are specifically called and where to buy? I've looked on Amazon and they are highly coloured...

    Oak Bureau

I've bought the Tung Oil, (Liberon Pure). Also the Parrs beeswax and Rustins sanding sealer. Thanks everyone

    Oak Bureau

Just so I've got this the right way. (apologies) I am not staining the bureau as I love the colour. So, use some filler or sanding sealer, then sand it lightly. Then tung oil. How long do you leave it with Tung Oil before you apply the next coat and I assume you denib between coats and when I've...

    Oak Bureau

Thank you. I will try the sanding sealer on the back perhaps and then beeswax it to see how it looks before doing the entire piece in sealer. Thanks Triton

    Oak Bureau

Ahh, OK. Bit of a newbie. So a coat or two of Tung oil and some beeswax. I will give that a go. Thanks for the help

    Oak Bureau

I haven't used the sanding sealer yet. I can give that a miss if need be. I have some clear Briwax, I am assuming this is just beeswax?

    Oak Bureau

Have I got this right, put put on the tung/linseed oil, let it soak and then wipe off the excess? Then when it is all done with the oil apply the beeswax? Thank you

    Oak Bureau

I've just sanded a 1930s oak bureau. I've bought some sanding sealer to ensure a good, smooth finish too but am wanting some suggestions on how to finish it. I am guessing it will darken naturally as it's quite light at present so I don't wish to darken it much but am open to suggestions on how...
