How would I mark out the shape of this frame?

I found an idea I want to use on some playhouse window frames I have made. I'm fine cutting the shape on the bandsaw, what I struggle with is marking out. Especially the top and bottom sections. It feels like there's a better way to do it than freehand which often looks completely off. I have...

Where to buy non countersunk screws

Where can I buy screws that aren't countersunk? I often find I need to fasten a piece of hardware or similar situations where countersunk screws are not appropriate. I can only seem to find countersunk or what I have found is very poor quality, (must be made of soft metal as they strip...

    What are these ?

I found them on my workshop floor. I have never seen then before. They are thin and made of metal. Some sort of shim perhaps. I did recently partly disassemble my cabinet saw to improve the dust extraction. I didn't see anything in the instruction manual's exploded diagrams

Improving the Dust Extraction on a Table Saw

I have a Charnwood Cabinet saw and the dust extraction on it is poor. All the dust drops out the bottom onto the floor, but it's not a bad saw otherwise. After seeing someone mention on here how they solved it, I thought I'd post a description of my project to help anyone else Here's my table...

    Dust masks. Do you shave?

I'd never considered until recently a clean shave is a good idea when wearing a dust mask. Consider the width of a human hair is approx 70 microns. That allows plenty of space for those small dust particles to get in.

    Table saw vs band saw

Now I've got a (currently elusive) bandsaw I was considering selling my table saw to make a bit more space. What can a table saw do that a bandsaw can't? The obvious ones to me are Cutting wide boards and panels Faster cuts Straighter straight cuts (but these could be tidied up with a planing...

    New workbench

I recently bought a new workbench. It's great. It's got all the features you'd need: MFT top Wooden screw vice Bench dogs Colour coded tool slots Chalkboard for notes Integrated clock Just a shame it's not mine. I still have a 2x4 frame with a piece of shuttering ply on top with a 52 1/2...

Where to find grain effect hardboard

Anyone know where it can be ordered from? I intend to remove an integrated fridge freezer to gain more kitchen cupboard space. Making shelves isn't a problem, but I'm struggling to find anything but white faced hardboard for the back that's non existent. The cupboards are all oak effect, so the...

Big Bandsaw with a small footprint?

Can anyone recommend a decent band saw with a smallish footprint? Looking for something powerful with a good depth of cut that doesn't take up a lot of room in the single car garage workshop. Been eyeing up a Laguna 14BX. Looks a very nice machine with a price tag to match though. Wondered...

    Greetings

Hi Everyone, A newbie to the forum. Thought I'd say hi. My name's Mark. I've had a interest in woodworking for a long time but it's only recently that I've decided to set myself up a workshop and kit myself out with some missing essentials (and a few cool machines). I'm pretty handy all round...
