Nice. Very unique. Is the curve natural, or intentionally formed?

How best to cut prewar tapered, laminated, plane iron without losing temper

Don't mix electric and water! I would have thought slower is best for not generating heat

Storage ideas for french cleat storage

You tube has infinite ideas for this. I'd recommend putting the tools you use the most on there so that they are quick to access (as opposed to tucked away in cupboards or draws). Mine has drills, charger, chisels, marking guage and more, but my favourite is the wooden nose with a notch I made...

How would I mark out the shape of this frame?

I finished them. I also applied the pattern to the fascia and porch. Replace rotten loglap at the bottom and a bit of paint and it should look good. The play house was second hand. Seems to be 'home made' as all the timber is oversized and the windows were just placed onto the back of the...

    Removing some of truss Webbing

Mines the same at 2.4m with added plasterboard ceiling. I don't have much problem with timber. Usually turn it round on the skew. I can just about stand it up leaning slightly. I have more trouble with sheet materials, but it's not the height with those, it's all the benches/tools that're in...

    Router fence measurements?

Hi Peter, I can't provide a measurement, but perhaps help: You could try looking up the instructions for the tables you want to know about. They usually have an exploded diagram, and sometimes measurements

How would I mark out the shape of this frame?

Thanks for the advice all. I was able to do it with a cardboard template in the end. All good suggestions though. I'll bear in mind for future projects. I'll post a pic of the complete article when I get round to finishing it, so far only the first piece cut as a test. Looks good. I find it...

How would I mark out the shape of this frame?

Yeah, that does, I thought of something similar for when cutting the wood, it's more the proportions and curves I struggle with, but that's given me an idea: Refining the shape on card with scissors could be easier.

How would I mark out the shape of this frame?

I found an idea I want to use on some playhouse window frames I have made. I'm fine cutting the shape on the bandsaw, what I struggle with is marking out. Especially the top and bottom sections. It feels like there's a better way to do it than freehand which often looks completely off. I have...

    Router and Router Table advice

If it's just templating you're doing I wouldn't think you need anything fancy. Not even a fence. Just a surface big enough for the job and some dust extraction. You can get routers specific to fitting under a table. They have switches that don't need holding. Though you can use a normal (hand...

    Steam Bending

"You should expect any radius to increase by about 30% after it cools but has not dried (for outside work), and if you also dry the wood below about 12% moisture content you can expect the radius to increase (spring back) by between 1% and 4% depending on the exact characteristics of the wood."...

    Bandsaw Advice....

I picked up a 1412 for around 1000. It was used in great condition. I am very pleased with it. What I'm saying is, try the second hand market

Where to buy non countersunk screws

 Seems they are generally called 'flange' and also 'pan', with pan tending to be wider and flatter heads

Where to buy non countersunk screws

Thanks, yes I have a few of these left. I do use them sometimes, though they're not the best aesthetically. General purpose screws. Mostly wood, sometimes wall plugs. Thanks. Looks like they have a few.

Where to buy non countersunk screws

Where can I buy screws that aren't countersunk? I often find I need to fasten a piece of hardware or similar situations where countersunk screws are not appropriate. I can only seem to find countersunk or what I have found is very poor quality, (must be made of soft metal as they strip...

    Storing wood

As above. Perhaps order just in time. Perhaps find a space Between a wall and workbench or similar. I have a similar problem. My full sheets are stored against the wall, partly obstructed with a cupboard and the workbench is in the way of getting them out. It's always a big faff to get them out...
