    What connector is this?

UPDATE: Ok having received a replacement motor, I see the issue. The connector in question isn't meant to be disconnected. On the other end, there's a standard connector that removes much easier. It never occurred to me to check and disconnect the other end of the wire! Lesson learned.

    What connector is this?

Thanks for the input all. I've included some pictures of the connection port and the connector in place. It sits in at a 90 degree angle, which makes it a bit delicate to remove without bending it. Record say they'll supply a replacement length of wire with a connector, so hopefully will be all...

    What connector is this?

I think that's probably what I'll do. Record Power are pretty good with spares and technical advice, so I'll ask them when I get the motor fixed.

    What connector is this?

Thanks for the replies! I'll try and get a picture of the thing it plugs into. George

    What connector is this?

Hi all. Anyone know what this type of electrical connector is called? And where to buy? Closest I could find is a fork connector, but the ones I see online are a different shape and size. It's off my Camvac unit. One of the little prongs broke off as I was taking the motor off.🤦‍♂️ (This is...

    Steam Bending

Wood will bend either way, although it tends to bend easier parallel to the growth rings. I don't believe there is any major advantage to having the "outside" of the tree on the outside of the bend, although in some species, you might find such wood is more porous and therfore absorbs the...

Kity 613 Bandsaw wheels not in line?

Interesting read! I have the Kity 513. I forget the actual difference between the 613 and the 513, I think it may have just been that the 613 comes with the floor stand and the 513 was the bench top model. At any rate, it has the exact same issue with the blade hanging off the bottom wheel a...

    Metal band on chisel handle?

Great find. OK that explains how they got the metal in there!

    Metal band on chisel handle?

    W. BIDDULPH Owners name I would assume as is stamped in a few other places too, including the metal of the ring, which shows just how soft it is. Dunno what metal is it's, but it's non-magnetic as well.

    Metal band on chisel handle?

Thanks all who have contributed. I guess it's one of those well meaning, slightly over engineered solutions to a problem that wasn't that big of an issue, that never caught on in a big way. Looking closer, I do actually see a bit of continuous grain either side of the metal, and the picture...

    Metal band on chisel handle?

Ah! On closer inspection lo and behold:

    Metal band on chisel handle?

Hi all, I was recently given this old 1.5" firmer chisel that has what looks to be a metal band around the handle. Looking closely, I suspect that it actually goes right through the handle, as I don't see much evidence that the grain is continuous either side of it. I assume it's there to...

Notes on Tyler Hardwoods @ Shalbourne, Marlborough

Hello, I have info that would come under "hobby friendly?" I use Tyler Hardwoods a lot, and within the last year or two, they've introduced a small wood shop stocked with smaller sized boards and off-cuts that are all individually priced. There's always a good selection on offer and it's more...

    Curing oven heating

UPDATE: The little 2kw fan heater I mentioned seems to work after all. The little termal micro switch is still clicking off and cutting power to the heating element, but because the fan continues to run, it's still circulating the warmed air around the box. The mirco switch will then click...

    Curing oven heating

Great stuff thanks. I'll look into it, but it might be a bit beyond me!

    Curing oven heating

Yep it cuts down the curing time drastically. This UF glue I'm using usually takes 6 hours + to cure. Rasing the temperature to 50/60 degrees can cut that down to 2 hours, so well worth doing! Might try the tube heater like you say then.

    Curing oven heating

Hi all, I'm looking at ways of heating a curing oven I've recently built that will be used to fast-set laminated work glued with UF adhesive. Ideally I'd like the temperature to get up to around 60 degrees. The oven is an 18mm plywood box, approximately 1700 x 500 x 400 internal, covered in...

    Record Power BSD250 drive belt

Hello again all, Not been looking at the forums for a while, so didn't know this had been picked up again. I contacted Record Power originally and they said the belt was out of stock, with no clear indication of when it'd be available. As I think has been mentioned, they seem to have had some...

Isotunes or other Bluetooth ear protection

I've got 3M Worktunes which are pretty good. Maybe not as much noise protection as stand alone ear defenders, but still adequate. Battery will give you maybe a couple of days of constant use before they need recharging. Good sound quality too! Peltor Worktunes Only Bluetooth SNR 24 dB Ear...
