Pull out storage under seat unit

Thats really annoying, especially if screwfix isnt close! The time lost is worth more than the mag catches. I clicked the drop down information tab and it does state 'sold singularly ' i just didnt see it, but that makes for seriously expensive sliders!

    Cleaning oak doors

Oxalic acid should remove the water marks As for the wax, i believe white spirit works, or a hair drier to warm it and then wipe it off to remove the worst of it.... I'd imagine a light go with a card scraper woukd work too

Pull out storage under seat unit

Ok, so..... i may have screwed up 😑 Credit to accuride, my parcel arrived today. Unfortunately ive just unboxed it and discovered theres only 1 slide in the box! I had assumed ( possibly wrongly ) that I'd get a pair for that money 🧐

    Storing wood

Watertight is only half the issue. Cold and damp air will still potentially damage sheets / encourage warping etc.....

Tips on marking out / scribing structural timbers - like rafters etc

For future readers, i advocate a good adjustable roofing square.... you work out your pitch and set the square to suit, then, as long as your new rafters are straight, your angles are largely taken care of, just measuring and careful marking left

Pull out storage under seat unit

Nice job👍 I have previously made under stairs storage using blum runners with great success and 8 or 9 years ago when i got my truck, i made a sliding bed system ( sounds more grand than it is ) using angle iron and skateboard bearings 😆 it works incredibly well, but, i made it in 2 sections...

Pull out storage under seat unit

The floor surface is oak effect hard flooring, most likely laminate. Good point regarding piston effect too, an air recess under the seat where it joins the frontp panel would be good. Yes, easily 2m of clear space to the side, so plenty of room for it to extend out. I found the cheaper accuride...

Pull out storage under seat unit

Or these rails, mounted on the side within the bench, and the sliding bracket fixed to the side of the drawer at the back? ( using 1 bracket per rail )

Pull out storage under seat unit

Thanks Roy, Yes they look good, but as you say, expensive. Maybe a piece of channel fitted to the 'roof' of the bench seat, with one side of the drawer extending up into it for alignment would work? 🧐 Edit to add: maybe accuride do a cheaper version with less capacity, i dont need 900kg 😆 I'll...

Pull out storage under seat unit

Ive got a job coming up shortly where I'm making a built in seating area on the back of a kitchen, with new stone worktops which will sail over the seat back slightly, giving a larger work surface etc. The space is limited, so using the under seat area as storage is going to be valuable...

    Pantry WIP

Nice work Doug 👏 👌 i like the odd spaced panelling and custom shelf brackets. The door is cool, i one made a bookshelf to replace a door to an airing cupboard, just had to make a quick piece of mdf at the depth of the bookcase so i could allow enough angle ( batter ) for the doorbookshelfthing...

What improvements do you think i could make to my jig?

Sadly, yes. Officially, now it is in a public domain it would be extremely hard to get a patent / protect the idea ( i have had guidance from a chartered patent agent in the past and this was a point he made strongly ) You could have the thread deleted and hope it doesn't show up in a search...

    Moving a 20ft container

Actually, what about a knock down unit?? Ive got a 10ft that comes apart into 6 galv panels, other sizes available. Easier to open than most shipping containers, which can be pretty stiff.

    Moving a 20ft container

You can get towable containers, often labelled as fast tow or site office etc.... or hire one and let the hire company figure out delivery🤷‍♂️

    Alibaba

I bought a 'cryteck' hydraulic dumper, same as lumag hd500 and lots of others ( scheppach etc all buy from the same place and rebadge ) Out of the box the clutch cable ( not an actual clutch ) was tight as hell and within a few presses of the plastic handle, it snapped. Teething problems? I...

    Prop shaft balancing

Thanks all for the comments.... i got lucky in the end, I was talking to a neighbour who is a marine engineer. He googled it ( which i had tried ) and found a bit of info suggesting the yokes should be inline to balance the prop. I then realised i had been pretty dumb, because the rear half was...

    Prop shaft balancing

Thanks roy, but in terms of nailing the position of the yoke on the splines to get the prop balanced again..... Currently im thinking i might take the shaft off, and just have the yoke and prop bolted in, with bearing, and see if i can detect any wobble.... if so i might be able to figure it out...

    Prop shaft balancing

😔😒 I failed today..... my L200 needed a new propshaft centre bearing, so i bought a new one from mitsubishi ( the aftermarket ones often dont last well ) Anyway, i took it off, split the u.j, took the yoke off, pulled the bearing and then reassembled. When i drove it a few hours later, it had...

Bosch professional jigsaw blades for scaffolding boards

Ive been doing it with pendulum on for about 26 years and have never broken a holder. Ive had a couple of blades snap but that has mostly happened on straight cuts doing laminate when that was an in thing..... and the pendulum definitely speeds up curves, it'd be interesting to do a few tests in...
