    Fire door advice

Hi My daughter has just had this fire door fitted by her builder between the garage and kitchen. I am shocked by the workmanship, none of the hardware is rebated and I believe the frame was fitted with the seal rebates on the wrong side. It now has these additional strips. I know that hinges...

    Straightening warped T square

I've acquired an old T square, similar to the type I used to use in TD at school. As you can see it's a bit warped, any tips on how to straighten it? I was thinking of soaking in water and clamping to my aluminium spirit level until dry. I could then refinish the edges on the router table and...

    Starter table saw

Hi I'm looking for my first table saw. I initially bought a second hand Scheppach HS100S which I did get cheap but the motor has gone, obviously too good to be true! What hammer for chisels?

I have a set of Irwin chisels, blue plastic handle with a steel cap. What type of hammer or chisel would be your choice? I just use a normal claw hammer at the moment, I know many use a nylon hammer but I was wondering how long it will last against the metal cap before the ends need replacing.

Hi, I'd be grateful of some advice and other people's experiences with dust collection. At the moment I use a Titan vacuum cleaner that switches on with the power tool, connected directly to the tools dust extraction port. I use this for a mitre saw, homemade router table and bench top belt...

    Stanley lateral adjustment lever disc

Hi I am cleaning up a 1960s Stanley Bailey no 4 plane and have noticed that the disc on the lateral adjustment lever is missing. Does anyone know what the dimensions of this are so I can make a replacement. Also is this normally riveted to the lever. Thanks in advance for your help.
