    Record power CLB22A Tool rest

I've been given this Record Power tool rest. It is labelled CLB22A. I am trying to find out which lathe it is intended to fit. Can anyone help?

    Name that tool

Can anyone tell me what this tool is for? It seems to be intended to make a hole in something. The piece at the top left has a saucer shaped indentation, and it looks as though it is intended to be removable, perhaps to replace it with other shapes. Cast into the handle are the letters AML8871...

Unidentified logo on a plane iron

Can anyone identify the maker of this plane iron? It is stamped with a logo and the words Registered Trademark Sheffield - see pic attached, but I can't see a name anywhere.

Scraper Plane. C D Monninger or Stanley?

This scraper plane No 112 has no manufacturer's name. It looks just like the 112 Stanley on Patrick's blood and gore, but the iron has the name C D Monninger, St Anna works, London etched into it. So, is it a Stanley with someone else's iron, or did C D Monninger make the whole plane?

    Identifying old tools

Thank you for those replies. That's very helpful. I've started a new thread with another question about the scraper plane.

    Identifying old tools

Can anyone help me identify these tools and have a guess at their age? The top one is a Stanley 71 1/2 router, but it's made of brass. Patrick's blood and gore says Stanley never made them in brass, but pattern makers often cast their own copies. So, is this one of those copies? The block...

    Rusty old planes.

I'm not going to restore them myself, but I'm sure there are collectors out there who will jump at the chance. There's a Youtube video of someone in the USA restoring three of them, and at the end he tries them out and thinks highly of them. I wonder why they stopped making them. Possibly...

    Rusty old planes.

Thank you everyone for the replies, and thank you particularly to Vann for identifying the Stanley steel planes. I didn't believe they were really Stanley products when I first saw them. I thought the construction must have been just to make a cheap copy, but having read about them on...

    Rusty old planes.

Clearing out someone's garage, I came across several sadly neglected rusty old planes. Any tips on how to identify them would be much appreciated. Pic 1 shows two planes which are in the same style. The larger one has a Stanley lever cap, but nothing else about it looks like a Stanley. The...

Yes, I can see now, that's what it looks like. Thanks to everyone for all the useful info.

    Unusual plane

Thank you Geoff. I hadn't thought of that. Now, final question. There was one other mystery object in the box, see pic below. Someone has obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make it, but what is it for?

    Unusual plane

Thank you for those replies, that's very helpful. There were other planes in the same box, would they also have been used by pattern makers? See pic below. Some have a figure stamped on them which seems to be the radius of the curve. But what does 1" x 12 mean? 1" is the radius, but what is...

    Unusual plane

Can anyone tell me more about this unusual tool? The brass unit has two keyhole slots which engage with the screws on the wooden part. There are lots of different wooden parts with different profiles. There are no blades, but I presume there would once have been a blade for each profile...

Elektra Beckum Saw table. Unidentified parts

Yes we've got the aluminium extension bars, and it did seem as though the black parts should fit on to them, but we couldn't see how, or what purpose they would serve. A picture would really help.

Thanks for the reply. That would explain why we couldn't fit it.

Elektra Beckum Saw table. Unidentified parts

[/attachment] We have acquired an Elektra Beckum PK200 saw table with some parts that we can't identify. The picture shows a green part which is obviously some kind of fence, adjustable for angles, but we can't see how it is supposed to fit to the table. The two black parts are designed to...
