Can't tell you anything about this wood - found it under one of my bench's and decided I wanted bruised fingers so turned it square and bashed my fingers a few times as usual, decided not to leave the edge totally square as I like the way the sides developed into nice almost semi-circles anyway...

So this is my 2nd attempt at CrushGrind Mills, I've gone for a more contemporary design, and believe using segmenting accentuates the design.... The two mills use the following woods (NO BROWN IVORY!!) : Pepper: Black Walnut, Jatoba & Beech Salt: Tulip, Beech & Cherry Padster

CrushGrind Salt & Pepper Mills, decided I'd try these after getting the mechanisms at a great price, needed a few jigs making as they were not as easy as I first thought they might be.... Top end mechanisms I think I've just about done them justice. The Salt is made with Ash & the Pepper is...

    Bandsaw not cutting square

Now this may or may not help, but I had had some small issues and ended up being recommended to look at Alex Snodgrass's video on YouTube. I watched it's simple fool proof and worked for me - but maybe because mine wasn't correct to start with, that said I have a foolproof methodology now so am...

    Proxxon scroll saw

@TRITON I have the Proxxon and have had it long enough that it was less than £200 when I bought it, I have no issues with it and it does everything I need - it takes standard blades, I use pinned but if I recall it might take pinless too. As with all Proxxon kit it's well built - I'd just check...

Good router bit for use with a Sled (sledge?)

Bit late to the party, but if you look somewhere here there will be a thread where I made sled in order to flatten some slabs to make tables (tables should also be shown on a thread somewhere LOL)... anyway I've used it lots for this type of purpose and only have a trend T5 with 1/4" shank but...

So a while back I saw an emerging bowl, not long after I saw they cut some trees down at the golf club so I asked for a log or two...it was pine and has been in the workshop for maybe 6mths... anyway got round to trying an emerging bowl - bit of trial and error and the jigs took almost as long...

    Smartwatch for the workshop

As I said in the start it's about ecosystems, I play a lot of sport still but never used Garmin and am an Apple user (have been almost since the beginning of iPod/iPhone etc.) so an Apple Watch Ultra suits my needs perfectly... but won't suit everyone, I also want all the health data, the apps...
