Same idea on my lathe, weighs about 700kg. The feet can be swapped out for braked castors.

If it's a finned one I would have it straight in the bead blaster, much easier and faster. But evaporust should do it. Try and get it degreased well first. No chemical treatment particularly likes grease or oil.

Your boiler will probably have inbuilt isolation valves, so isolate it from the rest of the system first. If water comes out of the valve then you will need a new expansion vessel. Can be a relatively easy DIY job, depending on the design.

Not much use in solving your problem I know, but I use a hydraulic scissor lift. Takes up a lot less room when you are not using it.

The video I posted uses a very similar technique, but you just need a short length of smooth metal rod and a washer, then use a drill to spin it, works a treat.

I think the noise you are getting sounds like the sort of chatter you can get between a worn wheel and shaft. At a certain speed it becomes much worse, throwing off the belt. Not familiar with the machine but could you perhaps bore out the holes and fit oilite bushes?

I was going to say exactly the same. Bit of bar with a suitably sized hole in the end for the pin to be driven into works well. I have had some fun with these on old lathes. Sometimes even with a press they just won't let go. All good fun.

If it is a taper pin then sometimes they really don't want to know. Then you have a choice. Can you leave it alone and still do what you need to? If it absolutely has to come out then you may have to drill it out. Use a drill no bigger than the small end, then a fine tapered reamer. A right PITA...
