    Just what you fancy, but....

Me too, fully jabbed, caught it from doctors surgery! As I'm diabetic I wait in trepidation to see what happens. I can just about taste stuff but not much. Get a test you don't want to spread the plague about

    Restore Ercol dark finish

You could have a look at the furniture "flippers" on you tube, people like Transcend Furniture Gallery Mayfield restorations, Flipping Drawers or the higher end Thomas Johnson. These people specialise in what you want to do. Personally I think you would be best just sanding the top to bare wood...

Good make Of HSS Twist Drills & Centering Drill Bits

Another one for Dormer. I also use Heller for wood/plastics etc, not had the nerve to use on steel dont know how they'll cut, probably ok actually. Also use Brad Point twist drills from Wealden, excellent quality I think theyre Austrian (Alpine? brand)

    Mitre gauge

Morning both. Bingy, I think you may be right about the incra being the "benchmark" miter gauge. As Axminster has seen fit to close the only branch within 90 miles of here I cant have a ride over and have a look at their offering so I think a ride over to Peters place is in the offing plus the...

    Mitre gauge

Hi everyone, I wonder if anyone has bought the UJK Precision mitre gauge and fence as being sold by Axminster for £125. I am particularly interested in how it compares to the Incra miter 1000. I realise the Incra offering is about £80 more expensive than the UJK and was wondering if this extra...

    Moving heavy machinery

You don't need scaffold pole, we used to move millers et al using 20 mm electrical conduit or 1/2" steel water pipe. Works fine

Cutting the lid off the box

I had this same problem when splitting a box, then I saw bloke on you tube cutting box lids this way. When cutting the lid on your table saw set the blade about 1mm less than the thickness of the wood so that you dont cut all the way through. Cut all the way around the lid on your table saw and...

    scroll saw blades

I always use Pegas blades. I normally get them from ptctools.co.uk via ebay. I've not seen other brands of blade on there, just Pegas. Hope this helps.

    Incra mitre gauge

Thanks for the responses blokes, any knowledge is very welcome here. I dont think I'll be buying direct from the States, by the time I've factored in shipping costs and run the risk of import duties it is probably as cheap to buy from Peters store and be hassle free lol!. I'm getting too old for...

    Incra mitre gauge

Thanks Bingy, looks like its just me & thee then! Good to know you had no major problems fitting the mitre gauge. I just have to get on the interweb to sort out how to check my mitre slot against the saw blade, then I've got to steel myself to spend at least £200 on a mitre gauge, that'll be...

    Incra mitre gauge

Hi everyone, I have a DeWalt 7485 table saw and just recently had to cut a lot mitres This has exposed the shortcomings of the supplied mitre gauge. Having had a look around tinterweb I've come to the conclusion that what I need is an Incra miter 1000 se mitre gauge. Does anyone have experience...

    Decent quality electrical crimp connectors

Have a look at RS Components, I used their crimp connectors at work for years, never found a need to buy from anywhere else. The only drawback is the smallest pack size is 100 so if you only need a few it can work out expensive.😊

    Flap Sander

Looks very expensive for what it is, even for a woodworking tool!

Wax on Danish Oil - yes or no??

I wax my projects after danish oil. I usually leave about 6 weeks between oiling and waxing. You can tell when the oil is cured by smell. When the smell of the oil has disappeared from the project, its ok to apply wax. Go easy on the wax.

    Knotting solution

Hi all, I'm boxing some exterior pipework in pine. As the pine has a few knots I need to use a knotting solution to seal the knots in. To match the existing woodwork I will be using Sikkens THB or whatever they call it now to paint it with. Has anyone used Sikkens over knotting solution, I've...

    Cutting Plastic

I've cut 8mm perspex with a track saw with no problems although I must admit not in the quantities you need to cut. Just let the blade do the work, dont force things and you should be ok. Clean your blade regularly with a wire brush if neccessary. I didnt find a need for lubricant.

    Startrite Saw.....What's this?

I think what you have there is a starter/ dc injection braking unit that also monitors the safety gates and external estop circuit. Not easily convertable to single phase working.

    Startrite Saw.....What's this?

Clean the legend plates on the push buttons, take a clearer photograph, someone will be able to work out what does what. Look forward to a clearer picture.
