Bog oak coffee table (Finished.....photo heavy).

Appreciate you posting the journey here Mike. Fascinating read, and I’ve learned a bit from you in the process. Love the look of the table, and using ancient wood with a story or two behind it is great. Hope your back sorts itself out fella. Cheers, Nick

    Garden Bench

Hi folks, quick update for those interested! I actually finished this a few weeks back, but completely forgot to post pics. So here they are, my 2 benches. The cushions are now in progress, my girlfriend decided to buy big ones from Dunelm, unpick the stitching and restitch them into bigger...

    Garden Bench

I think I've managed to all but persuade her to do it herself. Passed on your info about marine upholstery too, she likes that idea as it means less faffing about in the long run and it can all just stay outside :) Cheers!

    Garden Bench

Thanks both! @Pete, yep the smaller one will sit next to the lower section on the left there. Funny you should mention the corner table, initially we hadn't planned on it, but we had company over to test it out for a bbq the other day and the mrs' brother said 'could do with a corner table...

    Garden Bench

So i finally got round to the project that 'started it' off for me. Now that i've got a workbench to work on, a coffee table to put my coffee on, we finally have a garden bench to sit on for the summer!! Made from all reclaimed wood (the seat/back are old scaffold boards planed/sanded as best i...

    Outdoor coffee/bbq table

I had planned on doing so, was going to use some sort of resin or 2 part epoxy to harden/protect the feet, is wood hardener the same thing Pete? Cheers :)

    Outdoor coffee/bbq table

Thanks Pete. The frame is just 4x2 leftovers from my workbench build, and the top is an old crate from a wood recycle yard here in South Wales (Reseiclo in Newport if anyone is down this way, great little place). The Mrs finished it with 'mostly natural' outdoor decking stain I think from...

    Outdoor coffee/bbq table

Hi all! My first ‘real’ project on the new workbench, made a little coffee table (to match the garden sofa I’m building for the mrs). This was a bit of experimenting with different joints, and I appreciate it might not be the *best* way to do things, but I learned quite a lot in the process...

    First Workbench (WIP)

Oli, i don't really have much experience working with MDF as of yet, however i find the doubled up plywood to be more than sufficient, i sanded down the edges and rounded everything off today, so it's great to work on. Someone with more materials knowledge might be able to better help with this...

    First Workbench (WIP)

I followed the plans from here, Oli. If you get stuck anywhere ill try to help, one beginner to another :D https://www.construct101.com/simple-workbench-plans/ @Chris, will bear that in mind then for a potential future upgrade. Appreciate all the advice! Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    First Workbench (WIP)

I was considering castors, the original design I followed used them, and they'd offer a few additional benefits for me (I've a glass back anyway and the extra height/ease of movement would be a plus). Don't mind spending some extra to make moving it that bit easier, any recommendations at all...

    First Workbench (WIP)

Wow thanks all for your kind words! @Chris, thanks very much for the advice there, luckily this will live in the shed primarily, and will be brought into the garden on occasion when its nice because who doesnt like working out in the sun? That said, i was actually wondering how best to protect...

    First Workbench (WIP)

Hi all, first off its my first post so apologies if i break any rules. The mrs wants some nice outdoor furniture, and i like to make things so thought i'd try my hand at woodworking. Then quickly realised that in order to build things i'd need some sort of workbench! Due to space constraints...
