    Workshop Heaven Experiences

Hi Andy, how can I tell the last post was deleted/edited by a mod, looks like how I wrote it! I was just letting people know the outcome, nothing contentious I hope. Phil.

    Workshop Heaven Experiences

Thanks for your posts. The answer phone message mentions covid as a reason for not answering the phone, I'd have thought we are passed that stage now. I'll have another go tomorrow!

    Workshop Heaven Experiences

Edited post: I was trying to contact Workshop Heaven on Thursday and Friday last week and wasn’t able to, my fault. Then I tried email and had a prompt reply back and they were very helpful. Thanks Phil. tooleypark.com

Scribe tools -for site fitting of fitted furniture

This one gets good reviews. With the profile attachment you can scribe brick work, mouldings etc. Made by some big eared bloke in Leicestershire apparently. tooleypark.com

    New scriber design

Thanks for pointing these errors out Nelsun. I made quite a few alterations over the weekend and these slipped through the net! Sorted now.

    New scriber design

I've added more functionality to the scriber range with a base attachment for scribing more intricate shapes. For anyone interested there are a couple of vids on this page of me scribing skirting and some brickwork. It's takes a bit a practice to use but it does give good results. Phil...

    David Charlesworth

This is sad news as it always is when someone passes away (with the odd exemption!). I really enjoyed a short course I did with him on tool fettling (he didn't entitle the course "fettling") probably 20 years ago now. He was a nice chap. tooleypark.com bespokehandmadeboxes.co.uk

    Best kit in my workshop

When I set up my workshop years ago I bought all old 3 phase machines apart from the Startrite 352 bandsaw (I can’t remember why I made that decision at the time). Within a year I’d sold it for various reasons but the main one was the lack of power. I seemed to be forever waiting to reset the...

    New scriber design

As a lot of woodworkers are using the Pica and Tracer pencils I’ve designed a new scriber which will hold these pencils. Here are some pics of the final product. Phil. tooleypark.com

At 5.45am on Saturday morning this is making my head hurt. I don't understand it but haven't got the will to try to!

Thanks for explaining that J-G. Phil.

    Micrometer break in?

Lorenzi, what's the reason for not using the clicker (I've seen many utube vids where the user doesn't use the clicker and I've always wondered why). I always use it as to my mind you get total consistency with the torque applied and the reading but I'm a cabinet maker who does some engineering...

    Scriber update and new idea.

That's what I have done in the past Hornbeam but they eventually fall off (half way through a glue up sometimes!). I guess you could say they are over engineered but the idea is they are a permanent fitting and will stay with the clamp for it's life span (and these clamps as we know last a...

    Scriber update and new idea.

Thanks for everyone's comments. Good idea with the nylon but it would have to be thick enough not to snap off if the edges of the pad were caught on something. If I were to use 10mm nylon (having just done a quick search) it would be roughly £10 a stand just on the nylon. I'm selling 2...

    Scriber update and new idea.

Some people might remember a thread last year about a scribing tool I’d designed and was hoping to sell. It was a very useful exercise for me and I learnt from the justified criticism. I have expanded the range and have sold over 160 so far which is a more than I ever anticipated including...
