    Waxing P/T Bed ??

Liberon Lubricating Wax, says it all really. Its what its made for  with a built in cleaner and rust preventer to boot. shouldn't really let it get to the stage where you need to use it. A light coat every now and again, or after a heavy session stops this. Think preventative...

    Irwin Blue Groove Augers

Glad to hear they worked well for you  Used properly they take the hard work out of drilling big holes. If you had of done that your augers would be scrap. The thread there for a reason. Im sure you will have noticed that they need a little push to get through the last bit, after the...

Oh dear, bandsaw blade goes airborne...

Completely wrong choice of blade to resaw with your machine, you would be much better with a more substantial blade more suited to resawing. Perhaps 1" x 2tpi. Bigger machines like the startrite are made to take bigger blades, cutting tight curves is the only real need for a smaller blade...

Hi Mike, So obvious its easily missed  A Pic is worth a thousands words, Hi Bob, Sorry to hear of your troubles with the wheel kit, i think you should have tried it on the feet first before going to all the trouble of fabricating a frame for it. I have fitted a few of these kits...

    Jigsaw problems

Your blade has everything to do with it, I can recomend Bosch T144DP blades. They are quite a coarse cut but will cut square as long as they are sharp and you let the blade cut at its own rate, ie. dont force it. 2" Beech, HTH

External boiler - oil central heating - how much?

Hi Rob, Depending on size, i wouldn't like to be paying more than £500 for a normal external 50/70 or 70/90 oil boiler plus the fitting charge. Although i'm sure you could find a local plumber to do that for you at a reasonable cost (a days work at most) HTH Gary.

    Thicknesser

Hi Laura, Bit late  I have kept the SIP simply because i couldnt be bothered to try and get rid of it. I have taken it on site a few times since and find it great for machining bits and pieces. So the Jet stays in the workshop and is used most of the time. The SIP is, i suppose, a back...

    How much do you charge?

Hi Simon, As you are finding out everyone wants you to make them a "piece" until they find out what it will cost  The cost of the timber alone can be staggering  As a general rule/guideline for friends and family i usually charge 2-3 times the price of the timber(depending on the...
