Mirka Deros 650 Extractor Port - Thread Specifications

Thanks Sideways - appreciate the reply. Yes, I have both Mirka and Festool hoses; the hoses are push-fit and they do fit. A screw adapter does work - I have one - it's just LH and I want RH. It's not essential - I just don't like being beaten :)

Mirka Deros 650 Extractor Port - Thread Specifications

I'm looking to 3D print a port adapter for my Deros. Grateful if someone could identify the thread for me. The diameter of the port is 25.4mm (a familiar number - one inch). The thread separation is 4.5mm as close as I can measure it - which I guess equates to (25.4/4.5) 5.64 TPI. I have...

Single most useful tool in your shop

Difficult to answer - I need them all! But the one thing that I have in my hand more than anything else is digital callipers - I would do without many things before I gave these up.

    Another domino thread

Congrats on your Domino! It's transformative, but I have lost my M/T joinery skills . Some of accessories are silly expensive - I think the thinking is that if you can afford a Domino then you have money for anything! Also transformative (for me) was the 'domiplate' which I've found makes it...

How do I purchase wood from a Sawmill

Hi Brdy, you are fairly close to me and I occasionally use Vasterns. I buy tiny quantities by their standards, but they are always helpful. You must make an appointment though! You must understand what you are after before you go - quality, drying method etc. I've spent ages there with 2...

    Mitre saw recommendations

I have the Kapex KS 60 because space is an issue. It's very compact and is of exceptional quality.

    MRMDF 30mm thick help

I have stock of 30mm Medite MRMDF which has the green core. If you have ordered Medite then you should be suspicious. Otherwise, I'm not aware that other brands duplicate the green core concept. Regards Chris.

I have a good stock of Elm in my workshop at the moment - and that looks a very close match indeed.

    Woodworking for cats

All dominos, which make the steps very strong. I guess large dowels would do the trick almost as well.

    Woodworking for cats

I made a lovely scratching post, but she hasn't touched it - prefers to use the workshop mat. However, she loves the cat tree - solid beech with spiral steps fixed to post with dominos - topped with a cat's nest. And here she is in person.

how much energy does a 3Kw oven use?

I can answer the OP :-) I bought a power meter and have been trying to track down my high power usage (circa 6000KWh pa) in the house. I have been unpleasantly shocked (:) ) by many appliances - notably my fridge/freezer (620 Kwh per year) which is quite old. Anyway, the NEFF oven (a...

    Blade tension on bandsaw

Comments above are spot on. I use the deflection method. It's funny when I first got my Sabre 350 I used to fret about all sorts of things and now I can’t see why. Now I just use it - 95% for resawing and it seems to tolerate quite a broad range of tensions without effecting the cut. I used to...

Found Veritas RH Shooting board plane

Mine is not for sale, but have had had it for many years. The PMV11 blade is excellent. It is easy to sharpen and they hold their edge well - I use DMT dia-sharp stones. However, they are not as quick to sharpen as O1. I dropped my blade a long while back and dinted the edge ( I have rubber...

    Rutlands Warning!

FWIW I have not used Rutland for many years ( buy direct from Banggood now😀). I found their products to be either poor or barely adequate (kind of expected). However found their CS to be quite good.

    drum sander?

I have the Laguna 16-32 Supermax. Fairly easy to achieve thickness accuracy of 0.1mm with DRO. Max thickness is 75mm. I like the speed of changing the load - usually takes <30s if I have my head on straight. Never regretted getting the machine.

    Veneer identification

No expert here, but the left hand side of the piece has an Elm-like grain.

    Lets have a Parf 3

It makes sense to me. I have no knowledge of the concentricity of routers and bits, but the verticalness/verticality (please insert correct word :) ) of drilling is the weak link in this otherwise superb system.

    Woodpecker clamping squares

Hi Pete, Yes, I've bought several over the years - originally some ABS ones from somewhere, but these flex a little. I then got some Alu ones from Rutlands - most of which were out of square and returned. More recently I got a couple of sets (different sizes) of the Banggood ones with the...
