    Bit Fed Up

Mitre saw is far better tool and safer in this instance as you're no doubt removing guarding to use said sled.

    Bit Fed Up

Hey don't feel bad, we've all been there before. Making jigs that actually work accurately and efficiently nearly always require final fettling if not MK 2 version. Looking at your pic. Looks a nice jig but not sure how you plan on using it. Angle sleds on table saws are cumbersome and only...

Adding a Current Transducer + contactor to my 230v table saw

Maybe keep it simple and get remote socket like a lot of us use. Velcro band round wrist and bit velcro on back remote attaches it to your wrist. Tap remote to fire vacuum before start the tablesaw and tap off on remote after tablesaw switches off. Works brilliant. Like this one on ebay...

    Bog oak router plane

Ah. Cam action against a peg that press against blade to reduce vibration.

    Bog oak router plane

Wow Mike that's an amazing gift. My guess for peg sticking out the side is its wedge to hold another peg shaped wedge against blade to reduce vibration in the blade.

Hi Lonsdale. Mine is the earlier dewalt grinder, DeWalt DCG412N 18v XR 125mm Angle Grinder Bare Unit. They now do brushless version. On 5aH batteries I still get descent amount time cutting awkward tiles or cutting off bit metal or stud with thin discs. Also use it for quick wall chase or...

DEwalt cordless grinder is brilliant. Its become one of those tools I don't go onsite without. Dewalts cordless osculating is another corker of tool, not quite as refined as fein but really cheap if got dewalt battery already .

    Cross cutting oak beam

I use tracksaw a lot when I'm oak framing, cutting similar 8"x8" beams. Cross cutting on table saw is do able but I'd choose tracksaw everytime. Few things to make safer/simpler. Never used tracksaw/plunge saw without track. Gang up beams so track has more support. If you can place beam before...

Joining solid oak worktops breadboard style.

If you don't want your worktops cupping make sure you coat both sides of worktop. Under side best done before installation and at least 3 coats. Straight butt joint with worktop bolts and biscuits in long slots works best for 90' joint. Done loads including my own oak worktop all still good...

    Butt hinges or flush hinges

Butts. 3" and three of them if they're light pine moulded doors. They'll need the midway hinge to keep them from warping.

    First Workshop build.

Few things. 11mm osb is to thin for roof covering unless you're going for garden shed felt and don't mind sagging. Edpm needs 18mm osb/ply supported at 600mm max rafter spacing. Excellent roof covering. Are you making webbed truss? otherwise 3x2 aren't big enough. Watch out for the reg that...
