    orbital sander advice

    My old sanders (belt and rectangular orbital) are not doing the job on a table top which I had planed off. The belt always leaves marks which the orbital can't get out. Any advice out there about good orbitals which might cut the mustard? About time I re-equipped.

    Long drill or extension needed

    I need to bore out 400-500mm x 10-20mm holes in one of my projects. My current augur bits aren't long enough and don't remain centred once you start drilling deep. Any suggestions either for long eg Forstner bits (can't find online so far) or for an extension bar that I could lock a drill into?

    Ash extending table top

    I'm planning an expanding table for our kitchen, seating 6 without central leaf and 8 with leaf in place. Most designs plank the top crossways but I want to use ash with a strong grain which I think will look better with the grain longways. Any reason NOT to do this? Apart from the obvious...
