    Paul200, Nice looking table. You can always cut the gloss by going over it with some steel wool (#0000, or rougher) followed up with wax.

    Here is my favorite "fruit knife." I had two, but one disappeared a decade ago. It feels comfortable in hand and can hold a fine edge. Perhaps this style may be of interest to you?

    Do you process wood from the mill before storing it?

    clogs, I wish you lived near me: I could take you to several mills nearby. All very drool-worthy destinations, and cheap! Now getting the boards to Greece would be another matter.

    Temperature controlled kettle?

    I would think any microwave oven would be more energy efficient than a electric kettle to heat a given volume of water. Faster too! Am I missing something fundamental in this discussion?

    Adirondak chairs - timber choice

    I have made several from Southern Yellow Pine pressure treated decking boards. They have been outside in the elements for 12 to 15 years now and don't look to bad yet. Some have been treated with a penetrating stain and some have been left to silver naturally. It's about the cheapest wood...
