    paul, nothing magic, just went through the grades of paper as per then sanding sealer, 2 coats and re-sanded between, then coltron antique oil, two coats. glad you like, took about a week to do waiting for glue drying times and head scratching working things out as i went! atb dave :wink:

    by the looks of the pics m8 it was already in the wood, but yes if i were you i'd leave it for a little longer and see what happens, you could end up with some realy nice green streaks through the wood!! you may find u will actualy have fungus growing on the outside as well if left long enough...

    sean try buying yhe wood turners magazine, bout 4 quid and in there you will numerous pages devoted to courses/clubs, your bound to find something in your area, you may even find a club near to you where you can pop along to to look at all the bits and bobs that have been mentioned so far ! btw...

    i honestly dont mind any wood that i turn, each has its good and bad points, some may b a joy to turn but not give a nice finish, others a pigs ear to turn, but a joy to behold, im sure you will have fun "finding" your fave!! :occasion5:
