Mitre saw station build. Advice please.

Thanks Jim I plan to add dust extraction for the mitre saw. Got a 3d printed cyclone hooked up to a shop vac (not ideal, but best i can do atm), and will probably have a dedicated one for the mitre saw, at least until i move. One problem i'll have making an enclosure for dust collection is the...

Mitre saw station build. Advice please.

Hi, I'm planning on building myself a mitre saw station as and when time permits. The saw is 26kg. Will 12mm ply or OSB be strong enough for this or would 18mm ply be better? Plan to use pocket holes to fix the "cabinets" together. Was thinking of using 100mm wide strips to connect the sides...

Got all the measurements done for the space i have. Just need to work out the best layout. Are there any planners online that anyone has used? Did...

    Fire Extinguishers?

thanks. the only time anything is in use is if i'm in there, otherwise it's all isolated. had some extinguisher training but not much. think it is going to be wise if i have powder, co2 and water and position them near the stuff that could pose a problem.

    Fire Extinguishers?

thanks. don't have gasses in the workshop at the moment, but do have a gasless welder (upgrade needed) so will probably have gas in it at some point.

    Fire Extinguishers?

Hi, I think i ought to have a fire extinguisher in my workshop. Given that there are wood chips / sawdust and electrical equipment, what would be the right type of extinguisher(s) to have please? Had a look through the info, but i'm still unsure. thanks Chris

Looking for a new table saw. Guidance please.

thanks for the reply i'm looking to make furniture. initially for the workshop, but really for my house. i don't mind spending a bit more on something that i'd "grow into", as i'd rather get something that will last me for years. i'd also like to make some end grain cutting boards (got a few...

Looking for a new table saw. Guidance please.

Hi! I' in the market for a new table saw. Ideally a cabinet style. Only real restraint is that it needs to be able to run from a standard 3 pin (15 amp) plug. Been looking around, but getting very confused. Any help, thoughts and guidance would be appreciated. Thanks :) Chris

nowhere near as good as other things here, but i tried. made it using screws only and tried to do it so you could only see the 2 on the "gable end" of the bird feeder. not too bad for a complete beginner i guess.

Aldi Table Saw Fence Renewal (please read before you judge!)

yep. got that :) always use safety squints and ear defenders :) push sticks too :) as previously said, i had to have the fence that way round as i needed to cut an "L" shapes piece and the fence was too tall to allow the bevel to be cut otherwise (see pic). have since turned the fence around so...
