First table saw set up advice.

Hi. Got my first table saw and am just setting it up. It's an Einhell TC-TS 2225. Other than the really bad nuts and bolts it was a pretty easy build. My main query is on how to align the blade. Specifically if there is enough wiggle room in the saw bolts to align the blade with the T slots...

    How many teeth are enough?

Scroll sawed for a while and am new to bandsawing. I have always used as many teeth as I can for the thickness of wood I am cutting to get the finest cut (hate sanding). I posted a query on blades and one of the replies made a sidebar commented that 14tpi was very very fine. I didn't think much...

Wanting to try easy to get wood.

Hi I have been trying to source wood that is a) not so horribly dear (don't laugh I am new to this) and b) easy to eyeball before buying. I live just outside Glasgow and am truly sick of paying B&Q for banana pine or silly money for what looks like spare offcuts. Our local merchant (Shawfield)...

Can you flip a bandsaw blade?

I am new to bandsaws and would rather not break a brand new blade by my daftness. I bought 2 new blades from Tuffsaws (terrific service, nice folk). On setting up the first I noted the teeth were pointing up and not down as I expected. I have either "opened" the coil wrongly or its welded back...

    First post bandsaw advice

Hi all. Got a titan bandsaw for my birthday. Sorted the fence and have a "notes to self" on various checks to do before cutting (mainly due to it not being precision kit). Online advice was that the supplied blade was not good and to swap out the blade asap. I bought a 62" x 1/4" 14tpi (as its...

    Saw bed insert not level.

Couldn't work out why small pieces were getting stuck then noticed plate insert was not flush with plate. Easy to fix....stick flat maxam over plate. However is that the best surface to use? Thoughts on best topping to sort this please. Regards Andrew

Can anybody help? I know what I want but cannot find it.

Sorry for all the rapid hits for tips and ideas. I am new to all of this and cannot quite get my head around why some of the simplest things are not fitted as standard across the board. I have swapped out my Ferm pinned blade holder for a slightly modified Axminster clamp (rationale covered in...

Line up Axminster clamps....don't tell the wife.

Fitted new clamps to Ferm saw. Re-drilled fixing screw hole to proper 5mm (sorry axminster your 5mm and Ferm bolt 5mm not quite the same). Filed off raised sides as adapter not perfect fit for Ferm. Then hit problem with adaptors not lining up. Solution...borrow wife's favourite knife on...

Cheep pinless blade clamp adaptor solved

The barrel type adaptors that ca me with my Ferm saw were a pain. Especially trying to get the bottom one through the plate. Until my new Axminster clamps arrive I simply took the neutral pin from a 13amp plug (earth was a bit bigger) and cut the screwed block off. Works a treat. I had tried the...

    Reverse blade help please.

I see on line that reverse blades should project the reverse teeth above the cutting plate....no brained there. However I cannot see how to do this on my Ferm saw. The pinless blade adaptors that came with the saw do not allow sufficient space on the top clamp to get the bottom teeth above the...

    Blade holder and aide memoir

Just got pinless blades for my Ferm scroll saw. Eek...so small....scary small. Where to keep safe? Which is which? Which to use? And last but not least what on earth was I using. So I made this. A bog standard biro holds 12 spiral blades with ease. The washer tells me what is currently in the...

Newbie cheep skate looking for help

Sorry if this is covered but I am too daft to see it. I am looking to adapt my Ferm scroll saw to take pin less blades. The saw comes with adaptors but they are big, cumbersome and not really helpful. I did try choping the end off a 13 amp plug pin as the bottom clamp and although this works...
