    DW625E Router Collets

Cheers Tim. At least now i will only have to buy a 1/2" collet, still quite annoying though. So will i have to get an original dewalt part for this particular model ...or are there any alternatives?

    DW625E Router Collets

Just got one of these of ebay to get into making some picture frame mouldings and i thought it would have a 1/2" collet. When i measured though, the internal diameter is only 6mm and change, which is about 0.25" ...so this would be 1/4" and not 1/2" as i was expecting. So my question is ...can...

    Dewalt DW745 Dust Port Adapter

Cheers ScaredyCat, one of those might do the trick. For now ive just pvc taped one that is close enough to the port on the saw. This then connects to the larger one, which sits inside the 4" hose.

    Dewalt DW745 Dust Port Adapter

Hi. I would like to be able to hook my 100mm dust hose to my DW745 - TYPE 4 table saw, which has an outside diameter of 64.5mm. All the dewalt adapters seem to be for stepping down to smaller shop vac sizes. Any advice would be most gratefully appreciated

Sealing End Grain - Picnic Bench

ok , i stand corrected, no need to split hairs though. So if i'm looking at 26 faces of 2x6 and 10 of 2x4, with many being mitered or beveled ..how many of those twin tubes would i be needing, assuming that i do in fact need to do every face, and not just the legs.

Sealing End Grain - Picnic Bench

Excellent advice guys, greatly appreciated. I don't own a heat gun, but as i live with 4 women, obtaining a hair dryer will be no problem  Would it be best to apply this treatment to all exposed cuts or do i only really need to treat the legs? Just a thought, but doesn't the cheap epoxy...

Sealing End Grain - Picnic Bench

Cheers Guys. could i dilute the epoxy mix with a small amount of isopropyl alchohol to make it easier for the wood to draw it up?

Sealing End Grain - Picnic Bench

I'm building a Picnic Bench from 2x6 / 2x4 tanalized softwood and was hoping for some advice on sealing all the cuts (especially the legs) to prevent them from wicking moisture. I've read that ppl use epoxy resin, but some state that plain old pva is good enough. The bench will be sitting on...

Cheers Mike, is the EL model the lighter one? ...and am i right in believing that the EK is a clone of the old Elu Mof 177 ?

    1st Router advice

Ok, i know this post is a little old now but i have been trying to research the differences between the Dewalt DW625 EL -XW & the DW625 EK. Is it just the power increase from 1850w to 2000w ? ...Marketing strategies have always seemed confusing to me #-o

    1st Router advice

whichever i go with, i will as always, be watching some safety videos before doing any actual cutting, but it's always a good idea to mention that aspect

    1st Router advice

Wow, thx for all the great replies :D Owing to the fact that i have no experience with these machines i am a little intimidated. I think i would prefer one with the dual handles, so that rules out the palm versions. I'm kinda leaning toward trend as a brand for some reason and prob a 1/4" for...

    1st Router advice

Looking for some advice on buying my 1st router. I did search in here but the closest result was back in 2004 so here i am. Not too sure what i will be doing, other than detailing pic frames etc to start with, hopefully going on from there. Should i be starting off with a 1/4" machine ...

    Like the Rousseau 5000?

...oops  ..although at nearly £200 it seems a little steep for what it is, which is a small tent of sorts. I am still left wondering why there is so little choice here in the UK, considering that mitre saws are one of the biggest dust offenders in the workshop. Ive even thought about...

    Like the Rousseau 5000?

...Ye i know, it sounds like a racing event that we'll never get tickets to. But really it's a dust hood for a mitre saw  http://www.rousseauco.com/rousseau-5000.html They have these in the USA, but i can't find them, or anything similar, in the UK market. These would be ideal for me...
